A LITTLE HOUSE CHRISTMAS - Des Moines Community Playhouse
Auditions for the heartwarming play A Little House Christmas will be held at the Des Moines Community Playhouse at 6:30 PM on Monday, Aug. 28, 2017. All auditions are open to the public; no one is pre-cast. Questions about auditions should be directed to Robin Spahr,

A Little House Christmas contains feature roles for 3 Men and 2 Women, ages 16 and up, and 2 boys, and 3 girls, ages 8-16. Performances are Nov. 3-26, 2017, in the Kate Goldman Children's Theatre with school matinees Nov. 13-14. Where race, ethnicity, gender, age, or other personal differentiations are not demanded by the script, the Playhouse casts plays without regard to these attributes. Those auditioning will be asked to read a selection from the script; the Playhouse does not ask for prepared monologues. A Little House Christmas is directed by Melissa Kellar.

Ma, Pa, Mary, and Laura Ingalls gather the whole family together to celebrate the holidays. When a natural disaster strikes, it seems like Santa won't be able to make it! But Christmas is a time for miracles. A Little House Christmas is based on the series of books by Laura Ingalls Wilder.

The Playhouse is one of the oldest and largest community theatres in the US. Located at the 42nd Street exit of I-235, the theatre has presented a full season of shows since 1919 and also offers a wide variety of educational experiences including classes for ages 4 to adult, theatre trips to New York, and volunteer opportunities onstage and backstage.
