Preparation
Please prepare a brief comedic, contemporary monologue (no longer than 2 minutes.) Bring a photo and resume, stapled together.

Breakdown

Show Synopsis:

A contemporary comedy about two female shoplifters who are caught by two grocery store security guards.

Casting Breakdown:

ALMA: Mid-60s, female, any race. A professional shoplifter for many years, tough, cagy and sardonic. This role is already cast.

PHYLLIS: Mid-30s, female, any race. Alma’s friend and shoplifting protégée. Nervous and naïve, her dreams are small and her fears are big.

OTTO: Mid 60s, male, any race. The head security guard at the grocery store. Blue collar, tough but with a heart so big it is failing him.

DOM: Early 20s, male, any race. The new security guard at the grocery store. Young and overzealous, so eager to do what’s right that he does everything wrong.
