GENERAL NOTE: This play takes place in the 1970s, in a small town in Wisconsin.

Seeking the following role:

ELAINE
Female, Late 30s-mid 40s
A cosmopolitan woman from Chicago who feels like a “fish out of water” in this small Wisconsin town. A college graduate and an avid reader of self-help, she is perceived as sophisticated and assertive. A second–wave Feminist; sexy and comfortable as a sexual being. She has a strong façade but underneath she is disheartened by a less than ideal marriage, a failing relationship with her son, and goals left unmet. She self-medicates by drinking.
