Jazz Roots Dance Company, was formed in 2009 by Artistic Director/Choreographer Sue Samuels who has over 35 years of experience in Broadway, stage and film. The company is dedicated to the preservation of the classic jazz form, and aims to entertain and educate all generations about the roots of jazz dance. Because of the diverse styles that contribute to the foundations of Jazz dance, the body of work is also varied in musicality and can fit in many different types of venues, themes, and special events. Founded by renowned dancers Leandro Santos Silva and Janete Silva, the Silva Dance Company provides a masterful look into the art of Brazilian Dance. Borrowing from Capoeira and Afro-Brazilian dance traditions, as well as strong contemporary and modern technique, the repertory offers an evolution in dance - a fusion of distinctly beautiful and rich cultures.
