ACTA MATAFACTA VOL.1 Plays United Solo Theatre Fest 11/8
ACTA MATAFACTA VOL.1 is a show that will unite comedic monologues and mask. You will hear characters comically address their issues. Yet, you will also see them engaged in non-verbal expression, through mask. The tragic and comical elements of the characters combine to bring a dual perspective on their lives.
In the past years of my life, ACTA MATAFACTA VOL.1 always played and lived in my mind and now finally at the UNITED SOLO THEATRE FESTIVAL it will be brought to life. This particular show will depict the human condition and concentrate on a certain theme with each character that triggers a flaw within all of us. Then to create a unique structure for my piece that will escape from the conventional standard of a one-man show, I will infuse mask work as the other outlet for the characters. When there is comedy, there is always tragedy and mask work will give the audience the other reality of the character's lives.
ACTA MATAFACTA VOL.1 target audience will consist of anyone who just simply loves the one-man show structure. This show was also inspired from a huge inspiration of mine, John Leguizamo. His one-man show Freak struck a chord with me instantly and then watching Mambo Mouth, Spic-O-Rama, and Sexaholix...A Love Story, it just gave me more of an appreciation for his work and this particular art form. So if you are an admirer of his work, I believe my show might strike a chord with you.
ACTA MATAFACTA VOL.1 will only be performed once on November 8th at 10:30 pm. The UNITED SOLO THEATRE FESTIVAL will host this event. There are photo opportunities in which the press could come and take pictures. Location is Theatre Row, 410 W 42nd Street, New York, NY 10036. Tickets for press are complimentary.
