Spelman College and True Colors Theatre Company have announced a conversation with Tony Award-winning Director Kenny Leon the evening of September 8, 2016, at 7:30 p.m. in the Baldwin Burroughs Theater at Spelman College.

America's leading nurturing organization for playwrights Theater Masters & the legendary drama publisher Samuel French hosted a Book Party Launch for winning 10-minute Plays entitled “Theater Masters' Take Ten Vol.1” Book Launch Party----at Theater Masters' Artistic Director Julia Hansen's Park Avenue residence on Wednesday, December 9th. Second Stage Theatre has announced two New York Premiere productions for its upcoming 37th season.  The season will kick off in fall 2015 with the New York Premiere production of Matt Gould and Griffin Matthews' new musical, INVISIBLE THREAD (previously titled Witness Uganda), in association with American Repertory Theater, directed by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus (Finding Neverland, Pippin).  The season will continue in early 2016 with the New York premiere of Lydia R. Diamond's (Stick Fly) critically acclaimed play, SMART PEOPLE, directed by Tony Award Winner Kenny Leon (Fences, A Raisin in the Sun, Stick Fly). Two additional productions remain to be announced. 

True Colors Theatre will present SAME TIME NEXT YEAR, running today, July 8 - August 3, 2014 at the Southwest Arts Center. Written by Bernard Slade and directed by Chris Coleman, the production will star Tony winners Kenny Leon and Phylicia Rashad.

Tonight, June 21st, Ten Chimneys Foundation will welcome renowned Broadway director Mr. Jack O'Brien for a very special Conversation at Ten Chimneys. Mr. O'Brien will delight the audience with stories about his prolific life in the theatre. Mr. O'Brien's work can be seen in The Public Theater's Shakespeare in the Park production of Much Ado About Nothing, which runs June 3rd through July 6th in Central Park. Just announced, he will be directing Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane in a new version of Terrence McNally's It's Only A Play, opening on Broadway in September, 2014.

Aspen's acclaimed Theater Masters will present its eighth annual 'Take Ten,' an exciting, fast-paced evening of eight 10-minute plays from award-winning MFA graduate playwriting students from across the country as part of its National MFA Playwrights Competition today, April 22nd - 26th at Off-Broadway's The American Theater of Actors (314 W. 54th Street).

Aspen's acclaimed Theater Masters will present its eighth annual "Take Ten," an exciting, fast-paced evening of eight 10-minute plays from award-winning MFA graduate playwriting students from across the country as part of its National MFA Playwrights Competition April 22nd - 26th at Off-Broadway's The American Theater of Actors (314 W. 54th Street).

Aspen's acclaimed Theater Masters will present workshop reading of two new plays: 'To Boldly Go!' by Nick Carr and 'The Infinity Pond' by Maria Alexandria Beech on April 7th and 8th at The A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts Black Box Theater (501 South Sapodilla Ave) in West Palm Beach. Admission is FREE!

Academy Award, Tony Award and Emmy Award winner Christopher Plummer takes the stage for 16 performances only in a Center Theatre Group special event, "A Word or Two," which opened at the CTG/Ahmanson Theatre on Wednesday, January 22, 2014. Written and arranged by Plummer and directed by Tony Award winner Des McAnuff, "A Word or Two" is presented in association with the Stratford Festival of Canada and continues through February 9, 2014. Billy Crystal will return to Broadway this fall for a 9-week-only limited engagement of his Tony Award-winning, record-breaking play 700 Sundays. This will mark the final engagement of this production. Previews began Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at the Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street) with opening night scheduled for tonight, November 13, 2013 and a final performance set for Sunday, January 5, 2014. 700 Sundays is performed and written by Mr. Crystal with additional content by Alan Zweibel and direction by Des McAnuff.

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) Artistic Director James C. Nicola has announced that Fetch Clay, Make Man, written by Will Power and directed by Des McAnuff, will begin performances tonight, August 23 at NYTW, 79 East 4 Street, between Bowery and Second Avenue. Opening night is set for Thursday, September 12 at 7pm. Fetch Clay, Make Man is scheduled to run through Sunday, October 13; tickets are on sale now.
