According to the NY Times, Cherry Lane Theatre's Angelina Fiordellisi, will resign as Artistic Director sometime between March and June of 2011. Additionally, Fiordellisi plans to sell the building, which has been a Greenwich Village staple since 1924, due to ongoing financial struggles.

The Living Theatre, the oldest experimental theatre group still producing in the United States, continues its 63rd season with the world premiere of Judith Malina's KORACH - a new play based on the Biblical account of Korach, 'the first recorded anarchist in history,' who challenged the authority of Moses over the Israelites; a pivotal point in their 40-year trek through the desert after their liberation from Egyptian slavery - with previews to begin December 8, prior to its official press opening December 16 at The Living Theatre (21 Clinton Street).

A multitude of the most curious chapters from 500+ years of animal trials will take center stage in late November at the Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College with excerpts from 'The Tragical-Comical Trial Trial of Madame P and Other 4-Legged and Winged Creatures,' a multi-media phantasmagoria-in-progress by award-winning playwright Susan Yankowitz. The play is widely interdisciplinary, engaging themes of animal rights and law, criminal justice, philosophy and ethics. The concluding event of John Jay's annual Art of Justice Series, it will be presented on Monday and Tuesday, November 29 and 30 at 7:00pm. The Gerald W. Lynch Theater is located at John Jay College, 899 Tenth Avenue, NYC.
