Portland Cello Project, Gregory Alan Isakov and Colin Hay Added to 2014-2015 Season for Live at Benaroya Hall

Portland Cello Project and Colin Hay have just been added to the 2014-2015 Season for Live at Benaroya Hall; Gregory Alan Isakov has just confirmed that he will perform one concert with the Seattle Symphony on Tuesday February 17, 2015 . Tickets to Portland Cello Project's one concert on December 7, 2014 are selling very fast and The Wailin' Jenny's have sold out two concerts scheduled for earlier that same week. Casa Patas Flamenco will be visiting from Spain for three performances November 21 and 22, 2014. Their final evening performance is sold out but good seats still remain for their first two performances on Friday November 21 and the matinee on November 22.
Tickets are still available for all concerts listed below with the exception of The Wailin' Jennys. Prices vary. Visit www.benaroyahall.org or call (206) 215-4747. The Benaroya Hall Ticket Office is on the corner of Third Avenue and Union Street. This dynamic guitarist, singer, activist and "slack-rock" guitar pioneer returns to Benaroya Hall. Hailing from the isle of Oahu, Makana transcends musical categories and trends by integrating elements of folk, rock, ethnic, bluegrass, jazz and Hawaiian slack key. The result is pure innovation and the charting of new sonic frontiers with deep ties to tradition. He is considered the youngest authority on his art form and recognized as one of the top guitarists in the US (Guitar Player Magazine 2008). In 2011, his music was featured in the George Clooney film, The Descendants. The New York Times calls him "A dynamic force within the style of slack key" and Esquire Magazine reminds us that "Makana is to be considered the greatest living player of slack key guitar music."

Scottish singer-songwriter Colin Hay may be best known as the frontman for Australian hit makers Men at Work, but he has received renewed acclaim with his troubadour-style solo career. He even appeared on the TV show Scrubs as a character named Troubador. Hay's solo shows are peppered with hilarious anecdotes from his often surreal experiences in the world of rock music.
