Jason Stone's indie thriller THE CALLING, adapted by Scott Abramovitch from the book by Inger Ash Wolfe, will hit the big screen on August 19. Lionsgate has announced that production is set to begin today in New Orleans on the studio's action comedy film AMERICAN ULTRA.

Actress Susan Sarandon and Filmmakers Thomas Morgan and Jonathan Bricklin announced the launch of their film company, Reframed Pictures, at the Sedona International Film festival today. Reframed Pictures mission is to create and support films that are not only entertaining, but also raise awareness about human rights and social justice issues. But Reframed Pictures plans to take awareness raising one step further by creating opportunities for action associated with each film.

According to Deadline, UGLY BETTY alum Becki Newton has been tapped to star in Fox's comedy series WEIRD LONERS. Newton will join Zachary Knighton and Nate Torrence for the project, which received a six-episode first season order.

The Wallis has announced that Tony nominee Judy Kuhn (She Loves Me, Chess and Les Miserables) and Tony winner and five-time Emmy nominee John Glover (Love! Valour! Compassion!, 'Smallville') will star in Love, Noel: The Letters and Songs of Noel Coward, devised and written by Coward authority Barry Day, and directed by Jeanie Hackett, who over saw The Antaeus Theatre production of Noel Coward's Tonight at 8:30 and the three-year development of the Antaeus production of Coward's Peace in Our Time. The musical direction and piano accompaniment is by David O. Due to popular demand, additional performances have been added and Love, Noel will now be performed February 14 through 23 in the Lovelace Studio Theater.

Variety writes that Topher Grace will be moving in to a haunted house for Jason Blum, Leonardo DiCaprio and Graham King's upcoming thriller HOME. Patricia Clarkson is also in talks to star. Dennis Iliadis will direct from a script by Adam Alleca.

The cable network has decided not to move forward with the project which was described as 'a hilarious, poignant look at life today as seen through the prism of a brother and sister living in New Jersey.

The Hollywood Reporter reports exclusively that Broadway vet Patti Lupone has signed on for Lorne Michael's HBO pilot PEOPLE IN NEW JERSEY. The actress will join Sarah Silverman and Topher Grace on the half-hour comedy project from Girls scribe Bruce Eric Kaplan.
