8th Annual Star Awards at SCERA to Honor Ten People, 2/23

Those who have made significant contributions to the arts in a variety of categories will be recognized for their achievements in enriching the communities and citizens of Utah at the 8th Annual Star Awards held Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the SCERA Center for the Arts in Orem.

Stephanie Blythe Makes Her Carnegie Hall Recital Debut, 3/11

On Monday, March 11, at 8:00 p.m., the versatile and commanding mezzo-soprano Stephanie Blythe, joined by frequent collaborator, pianist Warren Jones, makes her Carnegie Hall recital debut in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage with a deeply personal program of American song. Ms. Blythe's program features Twelve Poems of Emily Dickinson, a set of songs written for her by the late composer James Legg, and Samuel Barber's Three Songs, Op. 10, powerful settings of three poems by James Joyce. Also featured are songs by Tin Pan Alley songwriters Ray Henderson, Cole Porter, and Irving Berlin.

Imagination Stage to Present Roald Dahl Shows in Repertory, 4/3-5/26

James and the Giant Peach, the beloved and well-read Roald Dahl story returns to Imagination Stage and teams up with the world premiere of The Magic Finger, one of Dahl's lesser known stories. Both shows, performed on the same stage and using the same set and cast, will create an exciting, hilarious, and Dahl-icious spring repertory at Imagination Stage.

James Carson and Lyndon Rochelle Play Rockwood Music Hall Tonight

Rockwood Music Hall welcomes back pianist James Carson and drummer Lyndon Rochelle (Esperanza Spalding) tonight, February 1, 2013 at 7pm. After filming the finale of Carson's documentary Cabin Music at their last outing there together this past December, the pair returns to deliver the incomparable synergy of Carson's shimmering piano effects with Rochelle's entrancing hip-hop beats. Classical, Pops and Family Programs Set for New Jersey Symphony's 2013-14 Season

The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra (NJSO) today announced its programs for the 2013-14 concert season, conductor Jacques Lacombe's fourth year as the Orchestra's Music Director. The season exemplifies the dynamic programming and high-quality artistry that have led the The New York Times to call the NJSO 'an ambitious, admirable orchestra.' The season features 14 weeks of subscription classical programs, four pops programs in both Newark and New Brunswick and three family concerts, as well as several special concerts.

Finborough Theatre to Resume SOMERSAULTS Today

The Finborough Theatre is sad to report that on Sunday 13 January, actor David Carlyle, who plays the leading role of James in the Finborough Theatre's production of Somersaults by Iain Finlay Macleod was rushed to hospital with viral meningitis. All the performances for the week commencing Monday 14 January were cancelled, but it is sadly now clear that, for the first time in his career and despite winning rave reviews for his performance, David has had to withdraw from the production.

Zach Appelman Stars in Folger Theatre's HENRY V, Now thru 3/3

The epic story of King Henry V's battle with the French during the Hundred Years' War comes alive for the first time at the Folger Theatre, in William Shakespeare's historical drama Henry V. The production, directed by Robert Richmond (Othello and Henry VIII at the Folger), stars Zach Appelman (War Horse on Broadway) in his Folger Theatre debut as Henry V, and will run from tonight, January 22 - March 3, 2013.

The Hunts to Release Debut Album, WE WERE YOUNG, in Early 2013

'MCM World Media" is pleased to announce the signing of indie rock band, "The Hunts". The group consists of seven siblings ages 14-23 including twin sisters Jenni & Jessi and five younger brothers Josh, Jonathan, Jordan, Justin & Jamison. Though the group is young, they are an experienced touring act averaging approximately 100 performances per year, to large performing arts theatre audiences nationwide. All seven Hunts are vocalists and multi-instrumentalists, well versed on guitar & bass, violin, mandolin, ukulele, banjo, piano & keyboards and drums & percussion.
