I saw the show on Broadway back in 97 and loved it. Since then I've played the CD over and over and love it more each time. It's an incredible score. I've never heard the foreign language versions - I'm afraid I always find it hard to listen even to great music when the lyrics aren't in English.

It is Tony Neef as Andrews (alternate Valjean in Dutch production) on it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-YGczRRJEI

I watched this after been dragged to see it by my aunt. It was OK but had a lot of problems. The biggest been that they focused on so many people that you didnt really attach to any of them. The score was pretty good but had far to many fillers.
The production was great but the sinking was a bit poor and over very quickly
Namo i love u but we get it already....you don't like Madonna

I have to admit there are a few tracks I skip.

This may sound like an odd match, but I wish Tommy Tune had directed the show.

It's funny how this multi-award winning production was never mentioned for a West End transfer?

PS: Hope you like the Playbill Matt.

The Magdeburg city theatre in East Germany is doing it this year again as an open air production with Kevin Tarte (mainly known as Count of Krolock in Tanz der Vampire, currently the alternate in Oberhausen) as Andrews.
Got to see it last year and it was good, though it is not one of my fave shows, (I like the score but the story bores me) but the production for an open air one with a short run of three weeks last (two only this year) is rather well made.
Off to see it in July once more, as I know the guy playing Fredrick Barrett.

Some pictures from last year:

Any mildly-intelligent producer would book out the Mayflower for April/May 2012, and mount the 100th anniversary production. It would no doubt be a huge success and then possibly come to London/go on a national tour.

Sadly, as alterego mentioned, the Aussie production flopped massively. It had a stellar cast and received glowing reviews, but never found an audience. It closed in Sydney a fortnight early and the tour was cancelled. Producer/Director John Dietrich poured his heart and soul into the show, and has since said he will never work in theatre again.

A really interesting timeline of Aussie production - http://www.aussietheatre.com/titanicdisaster.htm

A preview article that is really sad to read in hindsight - http://www.aussietheatre.com/titanicpreview.htm
