June 2: 3 shows, 3 cities, 3 continents#1
Posted: 6/1/09 at 1:44pm
Tomorrow night, three hit shows will all be giving performances on three continents, in the same three major theatrical cities.

Anyone wanna guess which three shows and which three cities?

I know that at the very least a similar situation occured in the early 1990s when CaMac ruled the world. :)

Can I try to guess?

In the cities of London, New York, and Melbourne:

Billy Elliot
Wicked
Jersey Boys

Wow...that's pretty intense!!
How to properly use its/it's: Its is the possessive. It's is the contraction for it is...

If Melboure is one of the cities, the only alternative is, you got the date wrong and you mean June 4th, and the final show would be Avenue Q.... But I doubt an Aussie would get THAT wrong!

After much research, I can tentatively say that tomorrow night will be a first.

The 80s/90s megamusicals (Cats, Les Mis, Phantom, Miss Saigon, Sunset Boulevard etc) did play concurrently in New York and London at the same time, however never in a third city. Well at least never in a third Australian city - in the early 90s both Melbourne and Sydney only had two large theatres each. Even in 1995 when the Regent and Capitol came along, no three of the mentioned shows were ever in Melbourne or Sydney at the same time.

Oh and yeah the shows are:
1. Wicked @ the Gershwin, the Apollo Vic and the Regent.
2. Billy Elliot @ the Vic Palace, the Imperial and the Maj.
3. Avenue Q @ the Golden, the Gielgud and the Comedy.

Cats played New York, London, Sydney all at the same time
Phantom played New York, London, Melbourne all at the same time
Les Miz....are we seeing a pattern here.

Aspect played Sydney, London and New York at the same time ( and you can add Melbourne to that list after the Sydney season finished )

Chicago was playing New York, Melbourne and London as well...
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian
