Good news but slightly surprising - this production has never sold particularly well, but I guess it's cheap enough to keep going.

I'm thrilled, since I won't be in London until May, and was sorry I was going to miss this one.
I haven't been following but from the discussion, I assume this should normally be available at TKTS?

YAY! This show deserves it. If only they'd advertise more.

(Got a front row ticket at TKTS. Nice.)

This is wonderful! I'm taking a trip to the UK in the end of April and really wanted to see this.

Is this something worth spending the extra to sit down front, or is the view alright from the upper levels?

I saw it from the front row and thought that being closer to this stripped-down version was probably for the best. But not having sat further away, I can't speak for the rest of the seating.

Never understood its closing, its done great business from day one. ATG lost the show it had lined up until autumn so weather that means this will now run the summer?, maybe, the U.S tourists will flock to it.
Great news!
Still dont like the new art work.

Took a friend to see it on Thurs this week and after building up the talent of La Evans, as we walked down the stairs to the stalls we noticed the dreaded cast replacement notice.
Ms Evans was off.
The talented Jesica Martin was to perform that night.
I have, over the years, seen all of her work and have amongst others adored her performances in 'Me And My Girl' and 'Sweeney Todd' but sadly her Norma was a great big, flat, let down. Within the first 10 to 15 mins I began to see she was dreadfully miscast. Ms martin is much better suited to parts with a little more comedy and not so much demand on her singing voice. Her singing voice seemed to struggle with some of 'Sunsets' more powerful notes.
I still feel Ben Goddard is too young for Joe.
The whole production has suddenly looked tired in the few weeks since I saw it last and the stalls was less than half capacity.
re: Sunset Blvd extends
Two weeks ago it was given an extra 2 months until June this year but just yesterday it announced that it will now continue until mid Sep.
I hope now they know its going to run a bit longer that they will spend some time tweaking it up a little before the busy summer months come along.
A few people there commented that it looked a bit tired.

Does 'New Artwork' refer to the one in your last comment Mama, or the tacky star artwork? I quite like the one in your latest comment...it shares the same logo and fonting as the start artwork..hence why I maybe thought it was new artwork for the extension of the show. Calrify please Mama? :)

This, I believe, is the new artwork (last post).
It seems to be creeping in around town recently.
The original star logo I really like.

Saw the show two weeks ago ... LOVED La Evans (for me, her "As If We Never Said Goodbye" was one of those rare moments of theatre where I get completely caught up in the world of the play and forget everyone around me) but really didn't take to Ben Goddard as Joe.

Laura Pitt-Pulford (who plays Betty) is definitely one to watch in the future. On the long train trip home I thought of roles she would be incredible in ... I came up with Laurie in Oklahoma, Belle, Julie Jordan, Dainty June, Jane in Tarzan, and maybe Glinda in Wicked.

I stated on another thread how good Laura was in Sunset, she will have a bright future in Sunset.

Saw this incredible production Saturday matinee with Jessica Martin, who I thought was wonderful. I loved this interpretation of Sunset and I don't normally go for Actor/musician shows. I liked Laura Pitt-Pulford and Ben Goddard. I thought the movement for "Too much in love..." was brilliant - as was the whole thing really. So glad it got an extention.
