I was thinking you were referring to a school production Sam. Sorry - I don't mean that to sound patronising - is this an amateur company or a professional? When are you doing LSoH - is that the same company or a different one? You're so busy at the moment you're getting me confused!

(yes - I've been on the Rose again tonight as well)

With your A'level piece do you perform the whole show or just part of it? And do you have to perform it with other A'level candidates or do a monologue?

Yes the whole show, we've had to pay out for rights, scores, scripts etc. The whole alevel group perform it, and we're assesed as individual performers. thats just one unit. in january we start unit 2 which is skills based, where you choose a speciality; be it music, drama, dance, costume design..and so on.

Do you do the A'level performance at college or in a theatre? Will there be a large audience or just the A'level examiners?

This wasn't an A'level option for me and I'd have been rubbish anyway, but it sounds very demanding.

Performance is in our school drama studio theatre :)
haha yeh it is bloody hard work, we also have to keep a Diary alongside this, writing up about the audiiton process, research for the show, health and saftey, budget, technical, and then a log for all our rehearsals (lessons). And on top of all this im choreographing it as well re: Diaries at the ready...

My school didn't even have a theatre - just an assembly hall. We performed Smike (not as part of any examination syllabus - just because we had to do a Comprehensive School Musical) which was a forgettable musical and never gets performed anymore, probably quite rightly. Because I could read music, I had to turn the pages for the music teacher who was playing the piano - not exactly the Paul monologue!

Awh our school is **** hot when it come to drama, we have a play one year and a musical the next, then various events throughout the year, plus GCSE and A Level performances towards the end of the year. Im pretty lucky!
