8 week tour then almost certain to open at The Comedy!
A young actress with Noel coward after a dreadful opening night performance said to him 'Well, i knew my lines backwards this morning!'' Noels fast reply was ''Yes dear, and thats exactly how you said them tonight'!'

I just love the film with Helen Mirren, Julie Walters and so on... No single year without watching it again and again !
So it is good news !

Is it to be a musical or a play?

Sarah bernhardt to a fellow actress: "Have you got stage fright, dear?" "No," the young lady aswered astonished. "Don't worry, it will come along with talent!"

I understand it is going to be a musical, I liked the film too, do not know if it will work out on stage though.

WickedBoy says it is expected to open at the comedy theatre soon, suprised they are opening at such a small theatre.

The stage version currently on at Chichester is a play and not a musical, although with Tim Firth having written the brilliant book for Our House I can't understand why he hasn't developed this into a musical. The story certainly sings...

Well, two different concepts for two completely different shows!

It was never even mentioned a being a musical tho i agree it would make a brilliant one.
800 seats isn't that small but The Comedy has a great history of taking in these special high profile transfers and as i said 'almost' it doesn't make it a definite transfer to this house!

My apoligies thinking it was coming out as a musical!

I can understand why it is going tom playn the comedy theatre as plays do not attract as much interest, as this is a play therefore it is not for me, however I do agree it will make an excellent musical, which I find more emotion in music, than can be taken from a play.

It's coming to the Bradford Alhambra, where ofcourse it has local connections, just up the dales...

It's a very impressive cast as well: Lynda Bellingham, Patricia Hodge, Sian Phillips, Gaynor Faye, Brigit Forsyth, Julia Hills.

I'm taking two female OAPs to see it - I've warned them in advance not to get ideas.
