Not to mention the possibilty of the New London probably looking for something sustainable

Also these theatre's could house new shows

Well theres lots of old news in that post already.
The people i PM to already knew about Spamalot 2 or 3 weeks ago.
The Novello already has its next two shows lined up and confirmed.
A young actress with Noel coward after a dreadful opening night performance said to him 'Well, i knew my lines backwards this morning!'' Noels fast reply was ''Yes dear, and thats exactly how you said them tonight'!'

"the people i PM to" - well we should all be so lucky to have that priviledge ... .. . HA. Really if you have nothing constructive to say except to blow your own tune ... don't say anything deary.

And we all know the next two shows for the Novello; eurobeat and rsc.. I was talking about new for 2009.

Anyhoo...
Be nice to have a clear out and get some new stuff in like what happened in 2006. Very exciting shows lined up to really give the West End a lift.

"we should all be so lucky to have that priviledge"

We do! The button is there on the left hand side.

I PM to who I want and I don't even work in the theatre!

You sounded extremly pompus and give off a very "I know all" and commanding presence on the board in your replies to topics/replies you view unworthy. It's rather annoying and it's comments like that do bring down conversation boards like these (which is what happened heavily @ wos.com)

ho hum to the argument (altho, for the record, i kind of agree with theatrebuzz, what's the point in crapping on topics before they've even had a chance to get going?)

right, back to the fun stuff - so what's coming in and where?
sister act is coming in the spring, where would we like this to go?
priscilla is rumoured for the palace, right? (after carousel's filler period)
where should spring awakening transfer into after hammersmith? i'd love to see it take up residence in somewhere small and lovely like the Venue, v atmospheric.
will grey gardens happen or is that just unfounded?
where is legally blonde going?

come on people!

I only post what i know from working herein a casting and production office- i never speculate. And I've had my fair share of topics 'crapped on' to use your words. Sorry if i sounded pompus but why do you have to reply to people using duckie and deary etc - that sounds totally condesending. I don't mean any harm to anyone here, please let that be known. PM me anytime!
I would never want to bring the board down- my god there are to many great people on here!
By the way, Barry Humphries is searching for a 12 week slot to bring his American tour to London. He got stung very badly with the very misguided 'Edna -The Spectacle' a number of years back at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. The show he's has been presenting and winning Tony Awards for is more in line of his old shows from the 80s with just plain old Edna on stage doing what she does best plus a bit of Les on the side..

I wondered if he would bring that show in. He did the Graham Norton show the other night with her - was very funny!

Personally I don't think you sound pompus - you know things, work in the industry and so on, so you have the right to write with authority.

There's also certain things you know and others I know that we can't confirm/announce yet for obvious reasons. Even though ones fingers are itching on the keyboard!

I work in the industry too, heavily. But I don't think i deserve or put out a requirement to have authority. On these boards we are all the same

Anyway. I shouldnt have said anything.

What would we all love to see in 2009 thats rumoured?

Its not what id like to see its what id like to see less of! Movies to musicals!! -as in adaptions for stage! A few of those are lined up. Only one has a slight hold on me and thats 'Sister Act' and only because it was a fun movie. From what i hear things are advancing pretty fast.
'Flashdance' just sounds dull.

The fact you don't feel you have the right to authority when writing, even though you work in the industry, (and even if you didn't) indicates the reason you get so annoyed with others - lack of self-belief. And then the fact you feel "you shouldn't have said anything" compounds that thought IMO.

But I love all me ol' chums on here - equally!!

Not Les Mis perchance? I only ask because the Queen's is long overdue the (literal) facelift that Cameron promised years ago - anyone know what happened to the plans for The Sondheim Theatre?

I'm interested in the Sondheim too. I know it was stalled because of Waterworks up S.A. Is there a new schedule I wonder, by way of asking?

The Government cash that was promised is yet to be handed out. But that pisses me off cos if Cameron has this suppossed love of theatre and wants to built a new one !!!! He's got the cash - just do it!
If i had half of what Andy and he have - every theatre would be done out without hesitation.
Rant over, sorry!
