Two words say a lot here.... 'The Sun'!
as great a show it was , 'Bad Girls' was far from a success in the West End. If it works on its 16 month Uk tour remains to be seen.
Am i the only one being very disappointed with the cast recording?

Poor ITV. There slate of Q1 drama's have all died a death, and I'm working on one of them. I did mention this article when i went to see them today, and they just rolled their eyes at me. They wouldnt confirm or deny. I hope for god sake it isnt true.

No i noticed the synth a lot during the London run, i kinda like it, it adds to the campness of it.Bad girls was a great success critically but sadly not commercially

This is the sort of idea that someone clutching an MBA who has absolutely no creative spark whatsoever would come up with. Notice it is a "Director of Global Content" talking about "brands". In other words they're thinking about making money rather than doing anything genuinely artistic.

TV drama shows have never adapted to make good theatre; as well as Bad Girls there was also Sex, Chips and Rock & Roll and I'm sure if we dig into the archives there will be more.

The thing is bad girls did translate very well, it just didnt find an audience.Bad Girls had better reviews than most of the big new musicals that have opened over the past few years

And of course there was the PRISONER CELLBLOCK H musical, which oddly enough was never seen in Australia. Personally I want a EASTENDERS musical, I'd go.

OK - I didn't enjoy Bad Girls on TV either so that probably influences my opinion.

I'm sure if there were to be a Footballers' Wives musical I'd eat my words and enjoy it.

Does the Bad Girls cast recording booklet contain the lyrics? (I've ordered the CD, but won't receive it for at least a week.) Thanks.

i think 'Corrie-The Musical' would be so fab. Not sure how they would stage Gail and the kids in the canal tho???

Maybe that's why they've killed off a few major characters recently - so the actors can appear in the stage version!

re: Corrie and Loose Women...the musical??

'Prisoner' on stage had been around since the mid 80s when it had its first performances at the Dominion in 1987. Then it only had 2 numbers in it but it toured the UK for 2 years selling out in every theatre it played! Then a few years later someone had the idea to write a whole bunch of new songs for it and put Lily Savage in as the big bird of cell block H. It toured the UK for a year before playing a season at The Queens Theatre that got extended 3 times. Basically it was an adult panto and was a great fun night.
It only closed cos Lily had other commitments. There is a CD single

And what happens when the pub burns down with Bet still inside?

I suppose they could always use the "burning of Atlanta" set from Gone With the Wind, assuming it's closed by then.
