'Loves Carousel' was the big number. The show looked stunning but yes, it was so dreary. A musical abvout the abdication and Edward and Mrs Simpson!!! It lasted just 3 weeks at the Victoria Palace. It was Cilla Blacks first venture in to producing shows... and her last! Cheekily known in the theatre world as 'Always-The musical with Wings'
Heres a classic flop favorite of mine that got put on CD in a brilliantly produced recording. 'The Fields Of Ambosia' Aldwych Theatre 1996 22 perfrormances. It was the story of a traveling executioner with his own electric chair. The audience were famed for not being able to hold back the giggles every night. Bill Kenwright was seen being told off for laughing in the stalls one night. The most jaw dropping moment was when a lead character, after being savagely male raped, sang a number called 'If It Aint One Thing Its Another!' Yes, its all on CD folks! ( SADM2- there's a whole new thread in here for me -whatcha think?)
