Are there many people auditioning in London? Like at a call how many people would you expect to see?

The quickest answer to your question is "Yes" there are lots of people auditioning in London! maybe not quite the scale of New York but its getting nearly as bad.
If you are at an open call (which happens very rarely in London) You would expect to see hundreds of people, enough people to last all day and sometimes over to the next. This is on top of the private calls which always happen too.
At private calls the numbers vary depending on how specific the character is, the casting director, what the budget is etc. I have been to auditions where there were 10 of us up for one role and auditions where there were 100 plus
