Just wondered what people were hoping for/expecting from ALW's sequel to Phantom?

That it is eventually scrapped.

That it is scrapped sooner rather than later.

Or that, against all odds, it turns out to be BRILLIANT.

But I favour the former. ^_^

What I don't understand is how he plans to make it so that even if you haven't seen Phantom that you can still see, enjoy and follow his new show.

Now, here is the part that confuses me. Isn't a sequel supposed to be a story that directly follows what happens after another one ended. I can understand how he can come up with events that show what happend with Raul and Chriistine in the trash that is Phantom of the Opera. But, in order to see and follow and even understand the seuquel wouldn't it require some understanding on who the past characters were. And even what the hell happend in the firs musical?

Yer, it does seem a bit odd to have a sequel that doesnt require much knowledge of what went before!!! But in recent interviews, he says that he has sent off drafts to various people to see what they think, what do people expect him to do with the plot and the music? Will he re-use music, eg the Phantom organ theme, or will it be totally original?

Ha I just had a brilliant thought--maybe why Andy is so keen on this is he plans on reusing ALL the Phantom themes and just having Zippel add new lyrics LOL
