Hi guys! I was wondering if anyones heard anything about a revival of Oliver! sometime. I saw the Cameron Mackintosh revival at the Palladium and absolutely loved it! Anyone got any opinions on this production? Just wondering. Thanks, Joe

i still regret never seeing the cam macintosh revival in the 1990s. that original cast i would have killed to see!

Sally Dexter must have been superb,
Jenny Galloway would have been hilarious as ever,
and Jonathan Pryce as Fagin- think i'd have sold my own grandmother to see him lol!

There is a video from Oliver! at the 1994 (?) Royal Variety Show floating round YouTube which is really enjoyable- a nice large chunk of the show.

The 90s revival was one of my earliest shows, I was really young at the time. It was absolutely brilliant. Dexter was great, and Galloway, was, well, Galloway. Jonathan Pryce was brilliant. Better than he was as Henry Higgins, or the Engineer (that's before my time, but I've seen the vids.
The rain we knew is a thing of the past -
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say
browsing on spire and bogland; but today
our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

it's probably aload of old kerfuffle, but i heard through a friend that there's talk it's going to be the bbc's next reality production, with searches for an oliver and a nancy.

probably alod of rubbish though, don't know if i believe it or not
