I'm going to see it next October in London.
It is good?
Philip Quast will be Peron in October too?

I don't know about Philip Quast but he was very good. A little under used in the part but good.

The show is really good - I really enjoyed it. As long as you don't expect it to be the movie you'll like it.

Having seen both EVITA and THE LION KING, I'd go back to EVITA any second! Much better than TLK. Elena Roger in the title role of EVITA is simply amazing.

I completely agree with sant, i'd go back to see evita in a second. I liked Lion King but would much rather see Evita again. The choreography is incredible and i think buenos aires has got to be one of my favourite musical moments. Philip Quast was very good as Peron, perfect for the role.

The thing I found about TLK, is that the opening number is really fantastic, but the rest of the show sadly doesnt quite live up to the opening. EVITA is STUNNING from start to finish and Elena Roger is truly one of the most attractive personalities to ever play the role - so the audience was completely engrossed - GO AND SEE IT NOW!!!!!!!!

I believe that Elena is contracted for one year. So she should be there till next June, though I need some confirmation on this.

I saw 'Evita' and thought it was amazing; but I got Abbie Osmon instead of Elena, so I can't comment on how Elena is, but don't be disheartened if you get Abbie! If I hadn't known she was the alternate, I wouldn't have been able to tell.

And MUCH loves to Philip Quast. <3

I would certainly choose EVITA ahead of The Lion King - it is streets ahead musically, dramatically and emotionally. And Elena Roger is terrific.

Regarding Philip Quast, he does a fantastic job (as he always does in any role) with what he has to play with. I have always thought that Peron is one of the most underwritten roles in musical theatre - his character does not develop at all and the role is lacking in vocal opportunities. And this fact was emphasised when I saw Philip Quast in the role. He has such immense presence and vocal power it seemed wasted in the role.

But, even with this flaw in the writing of the show, EVITA is still a not to be missed theatrical experience.

I understand from the cast that their contracts are up to April 2007. So I would imagine that Elena's is also till then.

There is a great deal of talk that Elena will reprise her role in a Broadway production.

Ticket sales are not that good for this show.

On Monday through to Thursday matinee tickets are easy to come by. In fact one of the cast described the houses as "very disappointing" for these days. But for Thursday through to Saturday nights the show is busy.

I understand that Abie Osman, alternate Eva, is on Monday nights and Thursday matinees and Elena does all other performances.
