let me rephrase the question ... what should i see that i cant see in new york?

or for some reason is MUCH better?

Was thinking of seeing Evita actually ... i was gonna go to a soccer game instead one afternoon ... but apparently getting tickets is a pain and those scalper sites want 140 pounds.

- AVENUE Q
Brilliant show!! They made some small changes for the UK opening. Nothing major has been changed, it's pretty much in the same shape as the Broadway production. But it's now much tighter - and still one of the best shows around at the moment!

- EVITA revival.
Really well done revival. This has never been a favorite of mine, but after seeing this production I had to admit it is a good show when it is done really well. Elena Roger in the title role was truly amazing!!

Avenue Q is way better in London than in New York, much funnier. Mostly because the cast is so much better.

Evita isn't a particularly special production but it's worth seeing - not a must see. It's not selling very well, you should be able to get tickets on seetickets.com and other legit sites without those extortionate scalper ones!

You'll have just missed Sunday in the Park with George and Beautiful Thing! Two of the best productions here for a long time!

Bent with Alan Cumming will have begun by then, that should be good. The Woman in Black is definitely worth seeing. Phantom is not at all, it's so so tired.

Guys and Dolls is my personal favourite at the moment. Easy to get good cheap day seats too.

Completely agree with SANT about Avenue Q and Evita. Avenue Q's cast is amazing, Julie Atherton is incredible, definately the star of the show. I saw Gabriel Vick as Princeton on Saturday and thought he was really good, bit of an uneasy start but soon picked it up.
Evita is also on good form. I saw Jodie Jacobs and Mark Powell as Eva and Che, i thought Jodie was good but she got extremely breathy in the dance numbers and found the fast pace a lot to cope with. Mark Powell was brilliant as Che. Overall a fantastic production.

"NOT Les Miserables at the moment.. I hear the current cast are awful."

So "I hear" rather than "I think"? Well I can find you a good group of people who love the current cast of Les Mis so ... "I hear the current cast are brilliant!"

Blood Brothers!!!!
...What happened next, was stranger still, a woman breathless and afraid, appeared out of the night, completely dressed in white. She had a secret she would tell, of one who had mistreated her. Her face and frightened gaze, my mind cannot erase...But then she ran from view. She looked so much like you...

The Woman In Black! The Woman In Black! I saw it yesterday and it's AMAZING. :3 I'm seeing 'Les Miserables' this afternoon so will be able to add my own comment as to whether or not the cast suck later. :3

The current cast of 'Les Mis' most certainly are NOT awful. Also, 'Evita' is an excellent production! Elena Roger seems to be ill at the moment (does anyone know anything more about that?) but Abbie Osmon is absolutely spot-on so you're really not settling for second-best with her. :3

Avenue Q is brilliant, as is Billy Elliot. Les Mis was pretty mediocre when I saw it last week. Beautiful Thing is absolutely superb but finishes 9 Sept so you are going to miss that.
All great things must come to pass. We know the first will soon be last and in the ground we may be lain , but a seed is sown to rise again.
