I fully expected that from you husband.

Mary Poppins... I only have the CD but I LOVE IT
Is Chitty Chitty Bang Bang still playing? If so- see it!
Guys and Dolls
and I hear tick tick BOOM is playing now? That's a great show, I'm sure it would be good!

It depends on what you have seen. Obviously: The Producers on Drury lane down in Covent Garden and the Lion King is down there too; Les Mis, which has moved to the Queens up by Leicester Sq ; are [still] the big shows in town. Tick, Tick, Boom is OK. The woman in White, at the palace on the corner of Shaftsbury Av. and Charing cross rd is pretty poor. Also avoid the queen musical 'We will rock you' up on Tottenham Court Road, unless you're a queen fan, of course. If you're feeling extravagant there's always the royal opera house, also in Covent Garden or check out the barbican up in, well, barbican which often has some good stuff on.

Yes, Sally, Chitty is still playing -- I think Jason Donovan is back now playing Caractacus. The show closes in September.

Personally I would say 'The Lion King' or 'Chitty' depending on what you've seen. I find 'Blood Brothers' really good too but find that other people's opinions differ.

I haven't seen 'Mary Poppins' or 'Billy Elliot' yet but heard that they are amazing but whether you can get tickets for them if another matter...

No idea about Jason Donovan... I saw Michael Ball in the role several times and Gary Wilmot once.

NOOOO. Chitty was amazing! At least, the broadway one. And I heard West End was better.

Blood Brothers, and maybe the Woman in Black. The Lion king is no different here than on Broadway, and Chitty is even worse. Guys and Dolls is good fun and Woman in White is fine if you like melodrama.

I say that you should try and see Phantom. I've seen it twice. Brilliant show! There is also Blood Brothers, I've seen this twice but not in the West End.

Also I would advise you try to book tickets before you get to London, if you want good seats. Most of the tickets that you get when you're there are on the sides of the theatre. Obviously you can chance it and you might get lucky.

I would recommend:

"We will rock you"
crap story but great music and feel good factor.(Sifi)

"The Producers"

"Blood Brothers" (if you have never seen it)
"Mary Poppins" and "Billy Elliot" (could be difficult to get tickets)

I definitely recommend Blood Brothers! I saw it last spring and I simple adore the show. I wish it was in NY so bad!!

And We Will Rock You. Crap story like TheComposer^^ said, but it was just a fun show to go to. Great music of course.
