Perhaps he has enough TV names available that will put bums on seats!

Like Bill Kenwright, David Ian is a very commercially focused producer and securing the 'names' to stage this will ensure he has a commercial hit.

I'm sure you're right, Spotlight 61, but couldn't he get the same names and put them in a better play?

Never seen the stage play. But absolutely adored the movie. (But they ain't gonna get a cast like that for this production lol.)

A recent report suggested that the main stay of theatre-goers are 'middle class' women. Given this, I suspect that we might just see more drama's aimed at women and exploiting these revenue streams.

bob8rich i am 100% in agreement with you. I loved the film but haven't seen the play. Not a middle aged woman but i will be checking this out.

The London production of the play was fantastic, had me in floods of tears. The movie did the same but the extra added sugar spoilt it a little for me. I can still watch it endlessly tho!

I am neither middle class nor a woman. Does that mean there will be very little upcoming theatre of interest to me? lol
