lol i just think it's a shame, they did some very impressive work on the show between the tour and London, it got pretty good reviews, its a shame when of the only few new musicals is shutting up shop.....wonder how long it will take to announce the tour lol

I am in the US and not the UK, but have followed this show since it opened. There is a significant amount of criticism on "What's On Stage" about the fact that this show was very poorly marketed. The reviews were mixed, or even mixed to positive, but there were no appearances by stars on UK TV to promote the show, etc., and even the "teaser video" was released just days before the closing notice was posted. What do you think about the way the show was promoted. Did poor marketing seal the fate of a show that should have done better?

The marketing for the show has been lousy, people have been saying that for months, its like it does not exist. I was hard pressed to find anything advertsing it in London and yes it would have been good if the cast would have done promo TV work

The last thing this production had was poor marketing. Its plastered all over London, where ever you look.
A tip of the hat should be given to the marketing department for this one.

I didn't think the advertising was bad in terms of posters. But I didn't get why Children in Need featured 3 shows that have already run for quite a while, I mean, Priscilla's already been on there.

I would have liked to have seen Flashdance on there for example, or Love Never Dies or another new musical publicising itself.

There can be many reasons why a show cant/wont do an event like Children In Need. When 'Tommy' played the Shaftesbury it was a fight to get them on the show and it was only cleared on the Wednesday before!

Apparently they tried to get on Children in Need, but were turned down because of the tour version having been on recently, not that it seems to have stopped Priscilla. In general I think the fact people have already seen the tour might have counted against people making the effort to see this in London and while people seem to be saying it's enjoyable, there isn't much buzz. The praise on What's On Stage seems a bit forced.

It seems silly to announce closing notices at the same time that preview clips become available. They might not have managed any high profile performances, but they could have got Matt to do a couple of daytime tv interviews and given the video an airing.

Bit of a shame this fails where Dirty suceeds, saw it on tour and enjoyed it-is it the greatest show on earth, no but far worse have had longer runs.

ClapYo'hands-I quite agree, I was in need of something after that....
