It will make it to Southampton onces its done all the other number 1 venues. It is very close to London to be a priority, shame as Southampton needs a decent Christmas show!!

God! don't get me started on Southampton and its dire recent record of Christmas shows.
The last 4 or 5 years have been box office and artistic disasters!

Qdos had a huge falling out with the Mayflower management and thats why they pulled the second biggest date they had each Christmas after Birmingham.
Time to make amends maybe?

They really need to, Mama do you know what the falling out was about? The management at the Mayflower is usually brilliant so im intrigued what happened.

The really need to drop Michael Rose and get back to Qdos

ahhh I see. The Mayflower always used to sell out their Christmas shows, and they were really good and got top names. Just doesnt happen these days, and the quality isnt great either. White Christmas was the only decent one in my view.

Id love to see Qdos return to The Mayflower!

Cardiff wont have a theatre seat available for love nor money this coming Christmas.

Qdos are presenting 'Cinderella' at the New Theatre with Brian Conley!

This panto was probably Southampton's last big one as you said, Princton.

It was actually Peter Pan with Paul Nicholas and Nadia from Big Brother! lol (which was actually much better than it sounds!), but yeah Brian Conley in Cinderella did 2 or 3 visits to Southampton

Hmm Christmas abroad this year then? 'Mamma Mia' Has Christmas In Cardiff

Half joking, will be looking foreward to Conley in panto, not so much Mama Mia, in fact will activly avoid family members who suggest it as a 'nice christmas outing'

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad WMC has another big hit on its hand, just as long as I don't have to go!

The New it is, the phrase as stuck though alot of people refer to it only as that!

I'd imagine the stage version is better than the film (could it be worse?!) but I had no desire to see it before the film so even less now!

No, I doubt it could be any worse than the film. I think I'm going to have to give it a miss, as much as I enjoyed seeing Les Mis at Christmas and would like to make theatre at Christmas a annual thing. I'm not that desperate.

Out of curiosity, do people tend to like Mamma Mia more or Less than We Will Rock You?

I preferred the film of Mamma Mia, though only in much the same way that I'd 'prefer' a dose of cyanide to being punched to death.

And though I would never see either show again I play the WWRY CD more often than Mamma Mia just because I like Queen more than Abba...

Is the Millennium Centre in Cardiff a theatre or a arena?

Just curious as the one in Newcastle is a arena, which Mama Mia played this Christmas. Just out of interest where in the UK had Mama Mia played at Christmas before Newcastle?

It is a really nice theatre, beautiful auditorium and great seating layout - I've taken to seeing more shows there recently than in my home city of Bristol (it also seems that a number of tours - Guys and Dolls, Mary Poppins and The Producers to name three - now miss Bristol entirely in favour of the Millenium Centre).

I love the WMC, I love the feel of it inside the theatre. I have yet to sit in a bad seat and I adore the homey/cozy feeling that all that wood gives off. It feels warm.

However, I think I shall be giving Mamma Mia a miss.
