A Right Royal Roaring Success
The London production of Disney's 'The Lion King' entered the record books recently as the 9th longest running musical in West End history plus it starting its 11th year at the Lyceum.
On Jan 12th 2010, Disney are releasing a 2 disc special set celebrating the show.
The first disc is a re-release of the Original Broadway Cast recording with the second disc being a DVD with material regarding all things to do with the Broadway stage production.
Disney have yet to release details (they are always a bit slow) of the DVD but I just thought musical theatre fans may like to know about this one.
One for collectors, certainly.

It won't be long until Billy Elliot will be on the esteemed list followed by Wicked.

It dosent feel like 10 years since miss Saigon went.

I saw the lion king for the first time last month in Vegas, cannot see how it keeps going over here.

It is a right mixed bunch.

I think the Lion King is a great attraction for foreign tourists. It is so visual that even non-English speakers can follow it, etc. And it appeals to kids. As for me, I found it pretty boring after about half an hour LOL. I've always thought it's a musical in search of a score (two great songs and the rest pretty forgettable).
