If I went back to 1995, the only thing I'd do is give myself a firm reminder not to throw away any of the Spice Girls stuff I will start accumulating in a year's time.

I saw Julie (twice) in 'V/V'.
Of the shows that I say I saw it was 'Beauty and The Beast' that was sky high above all the others- just stunning!
I've always loved 'Forum' but this production was so mediocre it put me to sleep.
'Big' was boring, very boring!

I saw this 'Show Boat' when it transfered to the Prince Edward and it was gorgeous.
Also saw 'Master Class' when it played London with 'that' woman! A great production of 'Master Class' was when I saw Fay Dunaway do it in Boston- she still has the film rights!

Saw it enough in town.
I've never been one to see a show on Broadway just cos it played London or even vice versa.

Watch The Heat is On. The rehearsals were easily more entertaining than Miss Saigon. Nick Hytner calls his house Ho Chi Minh City because it was paid for by Saigon!

Forum (1st choice Whoopi, 2nd Nathan)
Victor/Victoria (1st choice Julie, 2nd Liza)
Rent (cos I never seen it)
The King and I (we had this discussion last night)

Not sure I need a fourth but it would probably be a transfer like Sunset, or maybe Masterclass.

I actually saw 3 of that list back in 1996:
Beauty and The Beast (fabulous);
Victor Victoria (mediocre show but so great to actually see Julie Andrews live);
Big (LOVED that show!).

Wish I had gotten to see Master Class and Donna Murphy in The King and I (after seeing her in Lovemusik - which I honestly think is the greatest performance I have ever seen - I now wish I could have seen her in everything she's ever done!)

1. Show Boat ... I've always had a fascination with that revival and how epic it would've been at the Uris.
2. King and I ... I love Roger's designs for this revival and would've loved to see them in the flesh.
3. Sunset Boulevard ... so I could erase the tragic memory of Debbie Byrne from my head.
4. Victor/Victoria

A Delicate Balance. I saw nearly all of those shows, but I regretted not seeing this production.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Broadway production of Big. It was the tour that was hideously awful. If I could see only one of them again, I'm not sure what it would be. Donna Murphy and Lou Diamond Phillips were magical in King and I. Betty Buckley was a force to be reckoned with in Sunset Boulevard. Patti delivered one of the most engaging performances I've ever seen in a play in Master Class (only to be surpassed by Janet McTeer in A Doll's House the following year, marking my favorite female performance in a play). The original cast of Rent was so iconic (and incomparable to any of the replacement casts), I saw them three times the summer they won the Tony simply so I could remember the music and the performances (the recording had yet to be issued). Ann Duquesnay was the cherry on top of a unique and historically important new series of vignettes tracing African American heritage through dance and music in Bring in Da Noise/Bring in Da Funk. The one major disappointment was Julie Andrews in Victor/Victoria. Luckily, I went back and saw Liza in the show who breathed some energy and life back into the character.

Hughie is not a great play, but I attended the final dress rehearsal as I was studying at Circle in the Square at the time and watching Pacino perform was like witnessing an acting master class. He was riveting.
