Schmuck Off is a dynamic collection of new writing performances, showcasing the talents of emerging Manchester-based actors, writers and directors. Covering a wide range of contentious and contemporary issues, the plays are entertaining and thought provoking. Schmuck Off utilises the wealth of talent in Manchester's theatrical community, from lighting designers to costumers as well as performances from both young and seasoned Manchester, London and Los Angeles performers, including actress Nicola Jeanne, who stars in ‘Artist, Unknown'. Veteran of both West End and Regional theatre, Nicola has played in the hugely successful national tours and subsequent West End run of ‘Girls Night Out'. One of the directors and writers collaborating on the collection is Anna Forsyth, winner of the BBC Playtime award, who is returning to the stage following success at the Edinburgh Fringe with her 1960's set ‘The Mourning Party'.

Schmucks Theatre Company is a growing and upcoming company run by Nathan Shreeve, Jo Gewirtz and Kitty Critchley. Founded in 2009, Schmucks has already had huge success with their premier production ‘The Carroll Myth'. The production was entirely self-funded and completely sold out as well as making a considerable profit in a cutting edge fringe venue in Manchester's City Centre. Due to the success of this production, ‘The Carroll Myth' is being revised for runs at the Buxton and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals. As their second production, Schmucks is delighted that Schmuck Off will tour around Manchester, and out to Buxton, where the performances of Schmuck Off will mark the first out of town engagement for Schmucks Theatre Company. The Company currently has several further exciting projects in development.
