New York, February 16, 2013 -- Broadway's "Les Miserables" alums Adam Jacobs and Ali Ewoldt; musical theater writer Sam Carner ("Unlock'd," "Island Song"); concert producers Elton Lugay and Jona Jane Tajonera; and members of the singing group Broadway Barkada met the press last Wednesday evening at The Ugly Kitchen in the East Village to talk about their concert "A Heart Full of Love," starring Jacobs and Ewoldt, at The Town Hall (123 W 43rd St.) next Saturday, February 23 at 8 p.m. (Buy your tickets via Ticketmaster.com)

"I think concertgoers at The Town Hall will be surprised at some points -- pleasantly, hopefully. They will hear some things that are expected as well -- some really good Broadway duets and some really exciting mashups that our musical director, David Dabbon, has written. Between those and my foray into a 'new genre' (I don't want to give too much away!), it's going to be an exciting night," Jacobs told BroadwayWorld.com.

"We also have new works [like those of Carner's], which are very exciting. With all that combined, it's like a melting pot. It's going to be just 90 minutes; it's going to fly really quickly. And it's very kid-friendly; people of all ages, types, weights, races should come and see the show!" Jacobs, who also recently starred as Simba in Disney's "The Lion King" on Broadway, added.

Besides Broadway Barkada, Carner and his writing partner, Derek Gregor, "A Heart Full of Love" at The Town Hall, conceived by Victor Lirio (Suites by Sondheim," "Two Rooms") and directed by Adam Fitzgerald, also features Megan McGinnis ("Les Miserables," "Little Women") and Fabian Obispo ("The Long Season").

Proceeds from the concert will go to the 3rd The Outstanding Filipino-Americans in New York (TOFA-NY) Awards, an annual award ceremony that recognizes exemplary Filipino-Americans in the New York Tri-State held in October; and to Mindoro Healthcare Consulting's current research to find a cure for multiple sclerosis, an autoimmune disease that affects the brain and spinal cord.
