It was all about the love that Paul Anka has for sharing his music with audiences and the love those audiences have for him at The Kravis Center last night.

The 14 musicians of his music family took their places, the lights dimmed, a video mini documentary of his seven decade long career filled the screen, and then the spotlight found Paul Anka as he came down the aisle of the Dreyfoos Concert Hall singing "You Are My Destiny". The Kravis Center for The Performing Arts presents many super music legends on it's stage, but this performance by Paul Anka has got to be one of the most exciting entertainment experiences the Palm Beach audience has ever had. Paul Anka singing his own songs and Frank Sinatra's songs enveloped by exhilarating arrangements, played by a fantastic orchestra is the type of performance that makes your eyes and ears never leave the stage as you try to make sure that every minute of his show digests and remains in your musical memory.

Paul was the youngest entertainer to ever perform at the Copacabana and he honed his craft surrounded by the likes of Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly, Frankie Lymon and Chuck Berry. After a few hit songs, Anka confident in his talent as a writer wisely knew that being a songwriter meant the power was in the pen. As a result, he went on to wrtie for Buddy Holly and Connie Francis. Other hit songs include the Academy Award-nominated theme for the 1962 film in which he starred, The Longest day. He notably penned he longest running theme in television history for the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Paul Anka is the only artist to have a CD on the Billboard Top 100 Chart for seven consecutive decades.

Everyone heard and felt lots of love in The Kravis Center last night and Paul Anka (almost literally) touched every person who was lucky to have a seat.
