Earlier today, students from Temple University-many of them part of the theatre department-took to the streets on Philadelphia in a peaceful protest march to town hall for a discussion on equal rights for all and the importance of love in these uncertain times following the recent Presidential election.

According to Temple musical theatre student, Mike Styer, Camille Young (a cast member in Temple's recent production of Hairspray) sang "I Know Where I've Been," the civil rights-inspired anthem from the hit Broadway musical. Students also usedLin-Manuel Miranda's Tony Awards acceptance speech as inspiration, chanting "Love is love is love is love" as they marched through the streets. One student carried a sign that said "I'm beautiful and I'm here," citing lyrics from The Color Purple.

Below, see photos from the event, as well as a short video taken during the march and retweeted by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
