The Spanish nobleman Don Quixote is sick. In their fever dreams he is a knight from the medieval novels he constantly reading. Even when awake, he wants to fight the evil in the world and gives himself away with his squire Sancho Panza. On the square in Barcelona they meet the young girl Kitri which is unfortunate in love with the barber Basilio. The couple is on the run from Kitris father who wants to marry her. Don Quixote sees it as his chivalric duty to help the lovers ... Miguel de Cervantes's famous novel from the early 1600s about the sad skepnadens knights fighting against va?derkvarnar, has danced, choreographed by the legendary dancer Rudolf Nureyev. His Don Quixote is a fa?rgstark and virtuoso ballet, which mixes comedy and tragedy.
