The Department of Music at Mississippi College pairs a strong student body of performers with professors who are exceptional scholars and performing artists. Members of the faculty are committed to preparing their students to become successful in their respective fields by serving as mentors and advising them in their courses of study. The success of the department is demonstrated by the recruitment and placement of its graduates in teaching positions and church leadership positions across the state and region. Students who go on to graduate study consistently receive graduate fellowships/assistantships and excel in their respective programs. Examples include recent winners of major regional vocal competitions and publication by major music publishers. The faculty members in the music department at Mississippi College are gifted and authoritative in their fields, while being keenly interested in the uniqueness of teaching at a liberal arts based, private university.
