With Sexy Laundry opening tonight, the entire cast roster for the theatre's biggest season is almost complete. Nearly 300 Minnesota artists - including actors, directors, designers and technical operators - will mount 18 productions on two stages. The season lineup confirms Park Square's commitment to the work of women writers like Amy Herzog, Michele Riml and Alice Walker. The casting emphasizes Park Square as a home for local artists of color, from returning favorites like James A. Williams, T. Mychael Rambo and Regina Williams to dozens of debuts like Dominique Wooten, Kurt Kwan and Sarah Ochs.

"It's been electrifying to see so much talent respond to the work in this season -- the lines at auditions were huge!" said Artistic Director Richard Cook. "The real impact of our new stage is clear when we get to put so many of these great talents to work for us -- from artists we've worked with over the years, to new faces we met at church auditions for The Color Purple and open calls for shows like 4000 Miles. I feel like this season is a great start to the next 20 years of theatre at Park Square."

Park Square's new 200-seat Andy Boss Thrust Stage is in the final weeks of construction and will open in October. The first production will be The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros, adapted by Amy Ludwig and directed by Dipankar Mukherjee.
