The Saint Paul production of "Blind Date" opens at the Ordway's McKnight Theatre on February 22 and runs through April 1.

About the show: "In "Blind Date," we meet Mimi (played by Rebecca Northan), a Parisian temptress, who is stood up by her date. Always the optimist, Mimi selects one fortunate man from the audience (a different guy every night) to be her date instead. Heart-warming hilarity ensues as Mimi and her man embark on a spontaneous 90-minute adventure."

"Rebecca Northan takes your breath away with her improvisational power and wit," says James A. Rocco, Ordway's vice president of theatrical programming and producing artistic director.

About the artist: "The show's creator, Canadian-born Rebecca Northan, stars as Mimi. An experienced actor and improviser, Rebecca has appeared in leading roles in two Canadian television series (CTV's "Alice, I Think" and Showcase's "The Foundation," as well as having guest hosted CBC's "This Hour Has 22 Minutes"). Rebecca conducted her improvisation training at the world-renowned Loose Moose Theatre Company; she is a Second City Alumna and has appeared in countless Theater Productions. She is the recipient of a Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Award for improvisation, and a 2010 Betty Mitchell Award (Calgary) for "Best Female in a Musical or Comedy" for "Blind Date." Rebecca has also been nominated for a Gemini (Canada's equivalent of the Emmys); two Dora Award nominations for "Blind Date" (Toronto); five Canadian Comedy Awards for Best Female Improviser; and several Betty Mitchell awards (Calgary), including one for "Evil Dead the Musical." Currently, Rebecca's new play, "Kung Fu Panties," is in further development. "Blind Date" is produced by Kevin McCollum ("Rent," "Avenue Q," "In The Heights," "West Side Story" and "The Drowsy Chaperone")."

The Ordway will be hosting a talkback for "Blind Date" on March 7 directly following the performance. This event is free to ticket holders.
