An enchanting and lively musical adaptation of Eleanor Estes’ beloved novel, The Hundred Dresses is a poetic tale that explores the power of imagination and the courage it takes to stand up for others ? even when you are standing alone. This timeless story follows Wanda Petronski, a young girl who speaks strangely, lives in the wrong part of town, and wears the same dress to school every day. While Wanda struggles to fit in and make friends at Franklin Elementary, Maddie, a fellow student comes to understand that some of the worst bullies in the world throw no blows. The Hundred Dresses takes audiences on a colorful journey filled with buoyant music, zany characters, plenty of charm, humor and, you guessed it, dresses.

Atlantic for Kids has presented fun, quality children’s theater for almost 10 years. In addition to its weekend performances for families, the Atlantic Theater Company has welcomed thousands of NYC public school children to see weekday performances. These performances include talk backs with cast members (all Atlantic Acting School Alumni) and discussions about the theme of the play.

Metro Theater Company Ushers In Next Stage Of Growth With New Board Members, Associate Artists, And Staff

Metro Theater Company has named five distinguished professionals to its board of directors and four new staff to its existing team. The nationally recognized TYA company, which reaches tens of thousands of St. Louis-area students and families each year, has also appointed two celebrated St. Louis theatre performers/directors as associate artists.

Adapted by William Kent Williams from Eleanor Estes' 1945 Newbery Honor-winning novel of the same title, The Hundred Dresses is the second play of Metro Theater Company's 46th season. Suitable for young theatre patrons, families, and for educators as well, this is the story of Wanda Petronski (Sophie Murk), a young Polish immigrant, who is the new kid in an American town.
