The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts will produce, in association with La Jolla Playhouse, a re-imagining of Henry Krieger and Bill Russell's Side Show. Directed by Academy Award winning director Bill Condon, the musical will play at La Jolla Playhouse now through December 17 and will open at the Kennedy Center Eisenhower Theater in spring 2014. The musical features book and lyrics by Bill Russell and music by Henry Krieger who will revise the show before its debut at La Jolla. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

Making Books Sing (MBS), the critically acclaimed New York-based non-profit that promotes children's literacy and social development through professional Theater Productions and arts-in-education programs will, in conjunction with The Louis Armstrong House Museum and the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College presents the world-premiere, Off-Broadway musical Louis Armstrong: JAZZ AMBASSADOR with book by Myla Churchill (MBS's "A Band of Angels") and featuring music made famous by Louis Armstong. Over 200 years ago the French Queen Marie Antoinette stepped up to the executioners side and muttered the words 'Excuse me, I did not mean to do it.' Hear the story leading up to this monumental moment in Joel Gross's 'Marie Antoinette: The Color of Flesh,' which begins in previews on July 28 at Performance Network Theatre. This sexy drama, running through August 28, will feature Jill Dion, Drew Parker ('The Sins of Sor Juana') and Chelsea Sadler ('The Little Dog Laughed'), as Marie. It is directed by Shannon Ferrante.
