Pianist/singer Steve Ross recently brought his new concert, “He's the Top: Cole Porter Songs from List to Lust” to the Birdland stage, located in the heart of Manhattan's Theater District.

Two legends of the art form of Cabaret KT Sullivan & Steve Ross sang the music and lyrics of Noel Coward which were weaved together by reciting the numerous descriptive letters the playwright/composer/performer wrote to his mother and others. This captivating and elegant evening was written and introduced by Barry Day, the Literary Advisor to the Noel Coward Estate, who has written extensively about Sir Noel Coward. His writings include, The Complete Verse, The Letters of Noel Coward, Coward on Film Coward Coward Screenplays and the forthcoming Coward on Theatre.

The long-awaited UK premiere of Dreamgirls opens tonight, Wednesday 14 December at the Savoy Theatre in London, 35 years after originally opening on Broadway. To coincide with this evening's premiere, Sonia Friedman Productions just released brand new production shots for the show, which has been in preview performances since 19 November. Sonia Friedman Productions has today released brand new production photography for the long-awaited UK premiere of Dreamgirls. 

As BroadwayWorld previously reported,  two-time Tony Award winner Tammy Grimes passed away on Sunday in Englewood, N.J. She was 82-years-old.

The long-awaited UK premiere of Dreamgirls has preview performances at the Savoy Theatre from 19 November and Opening Night on Wednesday 14 December 2016. On Monday October 3rd, Sonia Friedman Productions were delighted to assemble the full company for the first day of rehearsals.

The Stephen Schwartz coming-of-age musical that helped put Bob Fosse on the map exploded onto Broadway in 1972. It then had a successful televised version in 1981. With the recent 2013 revival, the theatre world and all who see it are rediscovering this powerful show. It now has a showing through May 2nd with the Theatre Department at Agoura High School.

San Diego Musical Theatre wins awards, for their 2013 Season of Musicals, at the San Diego Theatre Critics Circle 12th Annual Craig Noel Awards on February 10th, 2014 at the Museum of Contemporary Arts in La Jolla among 500 San Diego theatre industry members and supporters. The Old Globe today announced principal casting for the Globe's 2012 Shakespeare Festival. Craig Noel Award winner Jay Whittaker returns to the Festival for his third consecutive season to appear in the title role of William Shakespeare's Richard III. He will also appear as Oliver in Shakespeare's As You Like It. Also returning to the Festival are Craig Noel Award winner Robert Foxworth and Adrian Sparks, who will take to the courtroom floor as titanic lawyers Henry Drummond and Matthew Harrison Brady, respectively, in the Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee classic Inherit the Wind. Foxworth, an Old Globe Associate Artist, will also play Lord Hastings in Richard III, and Sparks will play Lord Mayor of London in Richard III and Corin in As You Like It. Festival veteran Dana Green will star as Rosalind, and Dan Amboyer, new to the Festival stage, will play Orlando, the object of her affections, in As You Like It. Green will also play Queen Elizabeth in Richard III. Amboyer will also be featured as Bertram Cates in Inherit the Wind and the Earl of Richmond in Richard III. Festival newcomer Jacques C. Smith will play Jacques in As You Like It, the Duke of Buckingham in Richard III and Mr. Meeker in Inherit the Wind. Adrian Noble returns for his third outing as Artistic Director of the Shakespeare Festival and will helm As You Like It and Inherit the Wind. Renowned British director Lindsay Posner makes his debut at the Globe with his production of Richard III. Noble recently directed the World Premiere stage version of The King's Speech, which is currently touring England, and Posner's hit revival of Noises Off is currently playing at London's Old Vic and will transfer to the West End in March. The 2012 Shakespeare Festival, performed in repertory in the outdoor Lowell Davies Festival Theatre, runs June 3 - Sept. 30, 2012.

Yesterday, March 24, Elton John paid tribute to his late friend, Elizabeth Taylor, at his concert in Pittsburgh. Said John during the concert: '[It is] a sad day becuase I lost a friend and you lost a hero....[who] stood up when no one was prepared to stand up and be counted against AIDS. God bless you, Elizabeth. God knows how we're going to replace you. This is for you and your beautiful memory and for all of the people you helped saved.'

Manhattan Theatre Club's production of Translations by Brian Friel opened January 25th, at the Biltmore Theatre after beginning previews on January 4th
