20 years after watching Roman Polanski's world-premiere production, it was with great trepidation that I entered the Musical Dome in Cologne, to watch DANCE OF THE VAMPIRES again. To my surprise, it was a quick-footed, highly-entertaining show that was a vast improvement over the original Viennese production.

Unendlich schon. Und endlich zuruck. Nach fast dreijahriger Pause beweist ein Musical-Meisterwerk im kommenden Jahr seine Unsterblichkeit. Roman Polanskis TANZ DER VAMPIRE kommt im April 2016 wieder nach Berlin und wird fur eine kurze Spielzeit erneut im Stage Theater des Westens zu sehen sein, vom 24. April bis zum 25. September 2016. Damit ist das beliebte Musical schon zwei Wochen fruher wieder auf einer deutschen Buhne zu sehen als ursprunglich geplant. Der offizielle Vorverkauf hat begonnen. Ab Herbst 2016 lauft das Musical dann im Deutschen Theater Munchen.

The musical, originally billed as TANZ DER VAMPIRE when it premiered in Vienna in 1997, which Polanski also directed, had a brief Broadway run in 2002, with David Ives at the helm and Michael Crawford starring. The production closed shortly thereafter.

International smash hit gothic horror musical TANZ DER VAMPIRE is set for its premiere in Paris, France a year from now, according to a new blog post by bookwriter and lyricist Michael Kunze.

Jim Steinman is working on a musical based on his 'Bat Out of Hell' albums. Steinman has revealed that the musical, Bat Out of Hell, will be based on the songs from the three-album cycle. Described as a Cirque du Soleil-type spectacle, Steinman wrote both the music and lyrics for this dynamic project.

Steve Barton became known to theatregoers for originating the role of Raoul in Andrew Lloyd Webber's West End production of 'The Phantom Of The Opera' in 1986. He later went on to star as the Phantom in the Broad-way production in 1990. Most of his career was spent in Europe where he starred in 'Cats', 'Beauty And The Beast' and the phenomenally successful 'Tanz Der Vampire'.
