San Francisco Opera's 2018-19 Season opens Friday, September 7 with the double bill of Pietro Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana and Ruggero Leoncavallo's Pagliacci (or CavPag), and opening night galas hosted by San Francisco Opera Guild and the BRAVO! CLUB. Italian conductor Daniele Callegari makes his Company debut leading an International cast in Jose Cura's production, staged in revival by fellow Argentine Jose Maria Condemi. Opening weekend festivities inaugurating the Company's 96th season continue Saturday, September 8, with Gaetano Donizetti's Roberto Devereux and on Sunday, September 9, with San Francisco Chronicle Presents Opera in the Park, the annual free concert in Golden Gate Park celebrating the new opera season.

Jobsite continues the 2016-17 season with their third co-production with the Straz Center in the Jaeb Theater (Return to the Forbidden Planet, Silence! The Musical). Bay Area audiences are in for another just-in-time-for-Halloween treat with the Drama Desk Award-nominated LIZZIE, a killer rock musical that is taking the nation by storm. Czechoslovak-American Marionette Theatre (CAMT) has created 'The New World Symphony: Dvorak in America,' a play chronicling the American years (1892-1895) of Czech composer Antonin Dvorak, during which he produced a flurry of 'American' works. GOH Productions and Dvorak-American Heritage Association (DAHA) will present the piece as a work in progress January 30 and 31, 2016 at Bohemian National Hall, 321 East 73rd Street (Upper East Side). This production is preparatory to the play's upcoming world premiere run, which will be presented by La Mama Experimental Theatre, 66 East 4th Street (East Village), six weeks later: from March 10 to 27, 2016 (see more info below). The 2008-2009 season of Dance at the Music Center continues with a special, limited engagement of the Kirov Ballet and Orchestra of the Mariinsky Theatre's The Nutcracker, under the Artistic Direction of Valery Gergiev and Yury Fateev, Interim Director of the Ballet, to celebrate the holiday season for six performances only, December 17-20, 2008 at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.
