Hallelujah, Baby! Photos - Broadway

Leslie Uggams has 'one of the most entertaining and enjoyable shows to play a nightclub this year or any other!' She soared this week on the opening night of SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW, SOMETHING BORROWED, SOMETHING BLUE at 54 Below. The show is back for one more performance tomorrow on Saturday March 23rd. Ensemble Theatre Company (ETC) will present the fourth show of its 2022-23 Season, Michael Butler, Linda Purl and Nancy Travis starring in the London and Broadway hit, THE CHILDREN, written by Lucy Kirkwood and directed by Jenny Sullivan. Check out photos here!

The gala honored musical theater legend Leslie Uggams  with the 2022 Oscar Hammerstein Award for Outstanding Achievement in Musical Theater, which will be presented by Dionne Warwick. Ted Chapin was also honored with The York Theatre Company Founders' Award, presented by his daughters Anika and Zoë Chapin. The Riant Theatre (Van Dirk Fisher, Artistic Director), a nonprofit theatre supporting playwrights and theatre makers of diverse cultural backgrounds, held the Gala for its annual Strawberry One-Act Festival, which takes place from February 12th through February 23, 2020 at Theatre 54 @ Shetler Studios and Theatres, 244 West 54th St, 12th Floor, NYC.

Directed and conceived by Tony Award winner Gerard Alessandrini, the famed creator of Forbidden Broadway (the longest-running revue in Off-Broadway history) and the smash spoof Spamilton, the production has choreography by Gerry McIntyre (York's Hallelujah, Baby!) and music direction by Greg Jarrett (Pacific Overtures). The five-member cast features Benjamin Eakeley (She Loves Me), Jovan E'Sean (The Secret Life of Bees), Alex Getlin (Slay It With Music), Justin Keyes (How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying), and Mamie Parris (School of Rock).

Alexandra Burke has joined the cast of the hit West End musical The Bodyguard, to play the leading role of Oscar-nominatedsuperstar Rachel Marron. Burke plays opposite Tristan Gemmill who continues in the role of Rachel's bodyguard, Frank Farmer. The Bodyguard, playing at the Adelphi Theatre, runs to 29 August 2014. Last night, December 19, Town Hall overflowed with the musical joys of the season when three extraordinary talents, Leslie Uggams, Marilyn Maye and Christine Andreas took the stage for Holiday Belles. These award-winning singers brought their unique and diverse talents to the celebration, performing songs from the musical theater and the American Songbook, as well as holiday favorites. The concert, conceived and directed by Michael Bush, featured each singer performing her own individual set, and then brought them together for a very merry finale of holiday melodies. The Muny presents THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE as a part of the 94th season in Forest Park. Set to star in the production are Broadway favorites Beth Leavel, Leslie Uggams, and Tari Kelly as Mrs. Meers, Muzzy, and Millie respectively.
