Last night, Saturday 9 April 2016, after 4,600 performances and prior to the theatre's previously announced refurbishment programme, the final Victoria Palace Theatre performance of Billy Elliot The Musical took place in front of a packed house with guests including past and present Billy Elliots, original cast members and members of the show's creative team. The over 1530 strong audience rose to their feet for the curtain call to join the Company in celebrating a very special evening and a phenomenal eleven year run in the West End. Director Stephen Daldry, writer Lee Hall and composer Elton John joined the company on stage accompanied by 32 past and present Billy Elliots (the most Billy Elliots to ever appear on stage together), 24 past Michaels and 18 past Debbies as well as several adult members of the original Company.

Thomas Hazelby, 10 years old from Doncaster, today (11 March 2015) joins the cast of Billy Elliot the Musical to play the title role. He becomes the fortieth boy to play the role in London, where in May the internationally award-winning musical celebrates its tenth anniversary. Based on the 2000 film, both directed by Stephen Daldry with original choreography by Peter Darling, Billy Elliot movingly tells the story of a Yorkshire working class boy who discovers his unlikely passion and talent for ballet and who must win his coal miner father's acceptance for his chosen vocation.
Set against the background of the bitter 1984 mining strike which pitted the workers' life and death struggle against Margaret Thatcher's push to close the mines, Billy's discovery of his artistic gift becomes his ticket not only to self-fulfillment, but also to escape from his family's bleak existence.
Today, 12 May 2014, nine years to the day since Billy Elliot the Musical officially opened at the Victoria Palace Theatre, eleven year old Matteo Zecca (Billy) and ten year old Kyria Cooper (Debbie) will have their first performance alongside new cast members Ruthie Henshall as Billy's dance teacher Mrs Wilkinson, Chris Grahamson who plays Billy's brother Tony and Barnaby Meredith who returns to the production to play Older Billy.
Today, 13 November 2013, 11 year old Bradley Perret from Juan les Pins, France will become the thirty-fifth boy to play Billy Elliot in the West End and the first French-born boy to play the title role. Last night (11 April 2013), the West End production of Billy Elliot the Musical welcomed its 4 millionth patron to the Victoria Palace Theatre. At the end of the performance Sharon Hick from Yorkshire and her party were invited up on stage by Deka Walmsley who plays Billy's Dad. Killian Donnelly who plays Billy's brother Tony escorted them to the stage to great applause from the sell-out audience.
Today, 5 March 2013, 11 year old Zach Atkinson from Manchester joins the cast of Billy Elliot the Musical at the Victoria Palace Theatre to play Billy Elliot's best friend Michael. He alternates the role with current Michaels, Joe Massey and Thomas Moore. Check out the photos below!
