Broadway fans had plenty of reasons to celebrate this year, with dozens of shows having opened since January, hundreds of actors having made their debuts, and many more having returned to the stage for critically acclaimed performances. Bay Street Theatre presents the second production of its 2012 Mainstage Season, MEN'S LIVES, which opened officially last Saturday evening, July 7, 2012. The play was written by Joe Pintauro; based on the book by Peter Matthiessen; directed by Harris Yulin. The show runs through Sunday, July 29. Check out photos from opening night below!
A.R.T. American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) will present The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess, opening the A.R.T.'s 2011-2 season tonight, August 17 at the Loeb Drama Center. The Gershwin's Porgy and Bess, by George Gershwin, DuBose and Dorothy Heyward, and Ira Gershwin, is adapted by Suzan-Lori Parks and Diedre Murray, and directed by A.R.T. Matthew Lloyd will direct Juliet Stevenson and Henry Goodman as Stephanie Abrahams and Dr Feldmann in Tom Kempinski's two-hander Duet for One runs at the Almeida from 22 January ? 14 March 2009, with press night on 29 January. Designs are by Lez Brotherston with lighting by Jason Taylor and sound by John Leonard. Duet for One is sponsored by Pinsent Masons.
