On Saturday 30th November, the cast of The Snow Queen at Park Theatre turned on the Blackstock Road festive lights alongside the Islington Mayor, Rakhia Ismail. Families also enjoyed a meet and greet with the cast at N4, the theatre's local library. The Snow Queen is a festive family adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen's classic story, focusing on the origins of the Queen who brings endless winter. The production runs at Park Theatre from 4th December 2019 â 4th January 2020â

Three-time Tony Award winning Director Jack O'Brien presented Actor AndrÃ© De Shields, who celebrated the 50th year of his acting career in 2019 by scoring his first Tony Award, for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical for his role as Hermes in Hadestown, with the 2019 Father George Moore Artistic Impact Award at Encore Ovation â A Celebration of Aging Through Art at Sardi's on November 18. O'Brien directed De Shields in The Full Monty and Impression on Broadway.

Open Fist's clever, hilarious World Premiere musical adaptation of Neil Simon's MUSICAL FOOLS is a hilarious musical adaptation of his play, Fools, with book and lyrics by Simon, and music and lyrics by Phil Swann and Ron West, a veteran comedy genius from Chicago's Second City, who has directed the laugh fest like a Monty Python version of Fiddler on the Roof performed by the original Not Ready for Prime Time Players. Off-the-wall hysterical choreography by Louisa Kendrick Burton greatly enhances the comedy, with musical direction by Jan Roper often adding in the flavor of Eastern European Klezmer music.

The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys' band that he vows to organize â this, despite the fact that he doesn't know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by the end of the show. Performance is November 14th thru the 17th at King Avenue United Methodist Church, 299 King Ave., Columbus, OH. Admission is free, but a $10 donation is encouraged.

George Street PlayhouseÂ has a new home at the brand new NBPAC (New Brunswick Performing Arts Center) which also serves as the resident home for American Repertory Ballet, Crossroads Theatre Company and the Mason Gross School of the Arts. The new cultural venue opened with an invitational gala on September 4th, featuring a performance from George Street Playhouse's upcoming production ofÂ LAST DAYS OF SUMMER,Â and the official ribbon cutting took place in a public ceremony the following day.
