Cast members gathered this week to celebrate the new Back to the Future Trilogy Exhibit at The Hollywood Museum.

Marius (Justin Mouledous) begs Eponine (Emma Pollet) for help finding Cosette 'Life-changing,' 'Engaging,' 'Rewarding,' 'Surreal,' 'Exciting,' 'Humbling,' 'Wonderful,' 'Extraordinary,' and 'A Blast and a Half' are just a few of the ways this extraordinary, young cast is encapsulating what it is like to be a part of The New Octavians production of the epic, grand, and uplifting, Les Miserables School Edition-The show that packs an emotional wallop that has thrilled over 65 million people worldwide.  Winner of over 100 international awards, Les Miserables is an epic and inspiring story about the survival of the human spirit. The musical, based on Victor Hugo's novel, adapted for high school performers, features one of the most memorable scores of all time and some of the most memorable characters to ever grace the stage.  This cast of nearly fifty students, hailing from twelve different schools from the Northshore area of the New Orleans Metropolitan area, is certainly fulfilling expectations.  It is always a challenge to produce a show of this magnitude, but for Director, Brent Goodrich, being able to recruit talent from all over our community has made this production not only possible, but even more sensational.

On Monday, June 25, Ellen Barkin, Eric Bogosian, Edie Falco, Gideon Glick, Josh Hamilton, Lee Pace and Mark Ruffalo appeared in a one-night-only reading of Larry Kramer's The Destiny of Me, to benefit The New Group.  Trip Cullman directed with an introduction by Tony Kushner. Liliane Montevecchi  presented her autobiographical one-woman show Be My Valentine at Feinstein's/54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club last night and BroadwayWorld was there.

Thanks to the efforts of philanthropist and veterans activist, Patricia Kennedy, founder of Step Up 4 Vets, a not for profit organization whose mission is to partner in the transition of our returning veterans as they readjust, redirect and rebuild their civilian lives, 55 veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan made up for many missed holidays with an all day family celebration centered around the acclaimed Joffrey Ballet's renowned Nutcracker. 26 years ago, longtime Joffrey Board member & close friend of Robert Joffrey and Gerald Arpino raised the funds to create the Joffrey's now internationally acclaimed Nutcracker. Each night during the 2011 Broadway revival of THE NORMAL HEART, Larry Kramer, the author of the script, stood outside the theatre to distribute a letter to members of the audience.

Last Wednesday night, some of the cast members from 'ROCK OF AGES' came uptown - 2 blocks! - to New World Stages for some HOT TOXIC LOVE - and got it when they visited THE TOXIC AVENGER, the award-winning musical starring another 'American Idol' finalist. After the show, both casts met onstage for the obligatory photo - or three.

Serendipity 3, the landmark NYC dessert emporium teamed with the Off-Broadway hit, The Toxic Avenger, to create a sundae 'so toxically delicious it will turn you green with envy - The Hot Toxic Love Sundae!'

The producers of 2009's Best New Off-Broadway Musical*, The Toxic Avenger, celebrated the show's 100th performance on Friday, July 3 with a very special Independence Day party after the show. To commemorate the 100th performance (and America going green!), the cast and crew munched on 'toxic' cookies provided by Bobby Cookie and posed for the BroadwayWorld cameras!

At last night's performance of THE TOXIC AVENGER, there were two special guests in the audience - Chad Gilbert, guitarist with the punk/rock band NEW FOUND GLORY and Hayley Williams, vocalist with the hip new band PARAMORE.

Joe DiPietro (book & lyrics) and the cast of the Off-Broadway musical, The Toxic Avenger: Celina Carvajal, Nick Cordero, Demond Green, Nancy Opel, and Matthew Saldivar all joined together for a musical performance and CD signing to celebrate the new cast recording of the award-winning Off-Broadway musical. The 'Toxie' filled event took place on Thursday, June 25th at the Barnes and Noble Lincoln Triangle (1972 Broadway @ 66th Street).

Vincent Sardi, Jr., the late legendary restaurateur known as 'The Mayor of Broadway,' was honored in a memorial held Tuesday, March 13 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre in New York City.
