BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that stage and screen actor Burt Young has died at age 83. Gerald Tommaso DeLouise, known professionally as Burt Young, is best known for playing Rocky Balboa's brother-in-law and best friend Paulie Pennino in the Rocky film series, which earned him a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Broadway's Belasco Theatre will soon be home to an all new type of presentation. Netflix has announced Martin Scorsese's The Irishman will have a unique and historic theatrical run at the Belasco. The Irishman, starring Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and Joe Pesci, will screen at the famed theater from November 1 - December 1.

I had the pleasure of seeing A Bronx Tale with my friend Cassy, who had NEVER seen a musical before! (I know, right?!) I invited Cassy because the 1993 movie, off which the musical is based, is her favorite. Seriously, her cat is named Calogero, after the lead character in both the movie and the play. The 67 year old actor won a Best Actor Golden Globe for Raging Bull and has been nominated seven times in the same category since then. But this time, De Niro will be honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award for 'outstanding contribution to the entertainment field.'

According to Variety, Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper have signed on for the suspense thriller 'The Dark Fields', set to begin production in May. The plot revolves around down-and-out Gotham writer, played by Cooper, who comes into possession of a designer drug that gives him newfound success. De Niro plays a financial mogul who pursues Cooper's character.
