The Winner Photos - Broadway

All new photos have been released from Hello, Dolly! now playing at the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center (LPAC).  The show will run through April 21st. 

Theatre at the Center's production of The Pajama Game had its opening night performance on Sunday, September 15 at the Center for Visual and Performing Arts in Munster.  Artistic Director Linda Fortunato cast Curtis Bannister as Sid, Elizabeth Telford as Babe, Cynthia Carter as Mabel, Kelly Felthous as Gladys, Jason Grimm as Hines, Dan Klarer as Prez, Rick Rapp as Pop and Steve Silver as Mr. Hasler in the musical comedy romance The Pajama Game.

Just last night, Transport Group presented a benefit concert of the classic 1954 Comden & Green/Charlap & Leigh musical, Peter Pan. The evening, which was hosted by drag legend, Tony-nominated playwright, and Golden Age aficionado Charles Busch (The Divine Sister, The Tale of The Allergist's Wife), featured a cast that includes three-time Tony nominee Carolee Carmello (Finding Neverland), Drama Desk nominee Rachel Bay Jones (Dear Evan Hansen), Hannah Elless (Bright Star), Ann Harada (Cinderella), three-time Tony nominee Marc Kudisch (Hand to God), Tony nominee Tony Sheldon (Pricilla, Queen of the Desert), Paul Slade Smith (Finding Neverland), Drama Desk nominee Elizabeth Stanley (On the Town), Betsy Morgan(First Daughter Suite), Alexandra Silber (Fiddler on the Roof), D.C. Anderson (Queen of the Mist), OBIE Winner David Greenspan (The Patsy, The Royal Family), Ivory McKay, Doug Shapiro (Once Upon a Mattress), Tim Dolan (Altar Boyz), Patrick Boll (Mamma Mia), Richard Costa (Once Upon a Mattress), Ruthie Ann Miles (The King and I, Here Lies Love) and Tony nominee Mary Testa (First Daughter Suite, Xanadu). 

Clap your hands if you can believe it, the Tony Award-winning musical production 'Peter Pan' soars back to Moonlight Amphitheatre from July 20, 2016 to Aug. 6, 2016 at 8 p.m. The classic, family favorite production hit the Broadway stage in 1954 and has since been adapted for the movie screen several times for more than 60 years. The original Broadway production and revivals received nine Tony Award nominations with the most recent in 1999 for Best Revival of a Musical. The Moonlight production features the sets and costumes of the famous Cathy Rigby production, including spectacular flying effects. Scroll down for a sneak peek at the cast!

CLYBOURNE PARK is a play worthy of producing and seeing in any city that claims to be as progressive and liberal as Austin. It's a couple hours worth of good theatre by a theatre company that consistently produces excellent work.  We can sit in the dark and laugh at ourselves and race relations and enjoy some theatre that is, by the way,suffering from gentrification itself.

The cast of LORD OF THE FLIES just celebrated opening night in London, just before the production embarks on a six-month UK tour. The sold-out run at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre ends this Saturday, with a UK tour launching from New Victoria Theatre, Woking next Wednesday 16 September. Regent's Park Open Air Theatre's critically acclaimed production of William Golding's LORD OF THE FLIES, adapted for the stage by Nigel Williams, returns following its 2011 sell-out premiere for a limited run from Thursday 3 to Saturday 12 September 2015 prior to a major UK tour. Broadway fans had plenty of reasons to celebrate this year, with dozens of shows having opened since January, hundreds of actors having made their debuts, and many more having returned to the stage for critically acclaimed performances. Not all news was good though, as we also suffered a loss of an incredible amount of talent. Below, BroadwayWorld sends a fond farewell to those who passed away in 2014.

The Drama Desk and Obie Award-winning Keen Company's revival of Middle Of The Night by Academy Award winner Paddy Chayefsky, starring Tony and Drama Desk Nominee Jonathan Hadary (Gypsy, Awake & Sing, Gemini, As Is) along with Todd Bartels (Bingo With the Indians, Church), Amelia Campbell (Our Country's Good [Tony nomination], A Streetcar Named Desire, Waiting in the Wings, The Herbal Bed), Alyssa May Gold (Arcadia, Keen's Lemon Sky), Nicole Lowrance (Peter and the Starcatchers, Dividing the Estate), Denise Lute (Harry Outside, Bug), and Melissa Miller (Merchant Of Venice with F. Murray Abraham, Keen's I Never Sang for My Father), directed by Keen Artistic Director Jonathan Silverstein, opening February 27th. This limited engagement runs through March 29th. Academy Award, Tony Award and Emmy Award winner Christopher Plummer takes the stage for 16 performances only in a Center Theatre Group special event, "A Word or Two," which opens at the CTG/Ahmanson Theatre tomorrow, January 22, 2014. Written and arranged by Plummer and directed by Tony Award winner Des McAnuff, "A Word or Two" is presented in association with the Stratford Festival of Canada and continues through February 9, 2014. The Public Theater (Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director; Andrew D. Hamingson, Executive Director) and 3-Legged Dog will present THE HUMAN SCALE, an unsparing and graphic exploration of the ongoing crisis in Gaza

Stephen Sondheim is widely acknowledged as the most innovative, most influential, and most important composer and lyricist in modern Broadway history. He is the winner of an Academy Award, numerous Tony Award, multiple Grammy Awards and a Pulitzer Prize. Some of his other accolades include a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Kennedy Center Honors (1993), the National Medal of Arts (1996), the American Academy of Arts and Letters' Gold Medal for Music (2006) and a special Tony Awardâfor Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre (2008).

The series Part 2, The Brothers Size and Marcus; or the Secret of Sweet, directed by Robert O'Hara, began previews on October 21. Part 1, In the red and Brown Water, hits the stage. Tina Landau directs. McCraney, one of America's most acclaimed young writers, returns to The Public to complete his trilogy following the success of The Brothers Size in 2007. Performances will run through December 13.

Former three-time World Heavyweight Champion Muhammad Ali and his family attended the Friday, January 9th performance of Disney's THE LION KING at ASU Gammage Auditorium in Tempe, AZ. (Mr. Ali is a resident of Scottsdale, Arizona). THE LION KING National Tour performs in Tempe through Sunday, February 8, 2009.

The Tony Award-winning Manhattan Theatre Club (Peter J. Solomon, Chairman of the Board; Lynne Meadow, Artistic Director; Barry Grove, Executive Producer) dedicated its Broadway theatre the 'Samuel J. Friedman Theatre' on Thursday, September 4. The ceremony began at the theatre (261 West 47th Street at 8th Avenue) . MTC previously announced that it was renaming its Broadway home, until now known as the Biltmore Theatre, the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre in recognition of the pioneering Broadway publicist.

The revival of Clifford Odets's 'The Country Girl' opened on April 27th, at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre directed by Mike Nichols and starring Morgan Freeman, Frances McDormand and Peter Gallagher.

A Broadway Baker's Dozen of great talents will took The Town Hall stage by storm on Monday, April 7 at 8pm when Broadway by the Year saluted 1954. Songs from famous shows like The Pajama Game, Peter Pan, The Boy Friend, and Fanny were featured in this critically acclaimed concert series that is now in its 8th Season.

The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial will begin previews on Friday, April 14 at The Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45th Street). The show will open on Sunday, May 7th at 7 PM.

At 10 AM on Monday, October 3rd, the first 100 tickets to Roundabout's production were sold for $19.54 each to commemorate the 1954 Broadway debut of the famed musical.
