Haven continues its 2019-20 season with William Shakespeare's revenge-tragedy Titus Andronicus, promising a thrilling, bloody marathon – centering on the voices of marginalized people too often excluded from classical theater performance. Directed by Artistic Director Ian Damont Martin, Titus Andronicus will play February 13 – March 14, 2020 at The Den Theatre's Heath Mainstage, 1331 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago. The Chicagoland premiere of Almost Heaven: John Denver's America opened Sunday night February 16 to an enthusiastic crowd. Theatre at the Center Artistic Director Linda Fortunato cast Shannon McEldowney, Steven Romero Schaeffer, Andrew Mueller, Sara Geist and Tommy Malouf in the musical revue Almost Heaven: John Denver's America to kick off its 30th Anniversary Season. The cast was joined on stage by musicians William Underwood, Malcolm Ruhl and Alison Tatum. Fortunato is the director and William Underwood is the music director. The now Jeff Recommended production continues through March 22.

The Milburn Stone Theatre at Cecil College is ready to present the longest running American show on Broadway, Chicago, for the first time in its twenty-eight-year history. Chicago was originally written as a play in 1926 by Chicago tribune courthouse reporter, Maurine Dallas Watkins. Chicago was famously turned into a Broadway musical by John Kander and Fred Ebb and directed and choregraphed by Bob Fosse. Chicago was the winner of the 1997 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical. The 2002 film adaptation went on to win six academy awards including “Best Supporting Actress” and “Best Picture.”

Josh Groban kicked off his residency at Radio City Music Hall last night with a sold-out performance of Josh Groban's Great Big Radio City Show. The show included multiple surprise special guest stars and performers from New York City and the world premiere of a brand-new song, “Empty Sky,” performed by Groban to close out the evening.

The play premiered at Steppenwolf in Chicago, where it was filmed by Spike Lee and launched considerable press controversy, then moved to Lincoln Center where it was awarded the 2019 Lucille Lortel Award for Best New Play.

Raven Theatre is continuing its 2019-20 season with a revival of Henrik Ibsen's masterpiece A DOLL'S HOUSE, in a vibrant and progressive new adaptation making its Chicago premiere. Directed by Lauren Shouse, the new work features translation by Anne-Charlotte Hanes Harvey and adaptation by Hanes Harvey and Kirsten Brandt. Double Vision, a new musical, runs through February 22 2020 Chicago Musical Theatre Festival. An original show of galactic proportions, Double Vision turns musical theatre on its head with science fiction inspirations, queer- and POC-centered narratives, and an 80s rock-inspired score. Double Vision is artistically and collaboratively led by a team of Northwestern University and Stanford University alumni and is proud to be supported by a grant from the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America.
