Actor/writer Veronica Wylie and actor/producer Maxie Solters, have partnered with Seeka TV to release Adventures in Online Dating, a dramedy web-series. Adventures in Online Dating (AOD) follows four slightly off-center best friends who, disillusioned with traditional blind dates, create online dating profiles to cull the herd. Through their various misadventures, they discover that the landscape of online dating is quite different from that of conventional dating, and that the same methods don't seem to work. American Blues Theater announces the addition of five new Ensemble members and one new Artistic Affiliate to the Blues family. Joining the Ensemble is director, designer and Associate Producer Elyse Dolan, who directed several works in past Ripped and Blue Ink festivals; designer Jared Gooding, lighting designer of Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story; actor Philip Earl Johnson, who is slated to appear in the upcoming Chicago premiere of Steven Dietz's On Clover Road; director Chuck Smith, director of the recent American Blues production of Pearl Cleage's Flyin' West; and actress and playwright Wandachristine, who won many awards for her solo performance Beauty's Daughter. Actor Zachary Stevenson has been named an Artistic Affiliate. Stevenson recently made his Chicago debut as 'Buddy Holly' in American Blues Theater's Joseph Jefferson Award-winning musical Buddy - the Buddy Holly Story, in which he also won a Jeff Award for Performance in a Musical. UK Tour Of Ian Rankin And Rona Munro's REBUS LONG SHADOWS Extends Into 2019

Daniel Schumann, Lee Dean and Cambridge Arts Theatre in association with Birmingham Repertory Theatre today announce an extension to the successful UK tour of Rebus: Long Shadows due to public demand. The production written exclusively for the stage by author of the original novels, Ian Rankin and playwright Rona Munro toured from September to November 2018, and in 2019 will tour to a further five cities - Glasgow from 29 January, then visiting Cardiff, Cambridge and Newcastle, before completing its run in Bath on 9 March. Cornelia Street Cafe And Underground To Close On January 2, 2019

On its tenth anniversary, New York City Mayor, Ed Koch, named the Cornelia Street Cafe 'a culinary as well as a cultural landmark.' Now that landmark will close its doors at 29 Cornelia Street for good on January 2, 2019. A year ago, The New York Times reported that the Cafe was in trouble, with a soaring rent threatening closure. An official reason for the shuttering has not been revealed, but according to DNAInfo, landlord Mark Scharfman is 'a frequent fixture on various 'Worst Landlord' lists.' (more...)

Marga Gomez Led KING OF CUBA Extends At Berkeley City Club

King of Cuba, a new comedy by award-winning writer Cristina Garcia, has extended through August 26th at the historic Berkeley City Club (originally scheduled to close August 19). In King of Cuba, two aging Cubanos hilariously have a go at each other. Opening night Marga was described as 'dethroning machismo,' while the house erupted as El Comandante (Marga Gomez) remarked "Nobody has bigger cojones than I do." The night then roiled with laughter as the two silver haired Cubanos 'knock each other down' verbally and otherwise. (more...)

Director of Nuffield Southampton Theatres (NST), Samuel Hodges, today announces full casting for the world premiere of Women in Power. NST Associate Director Blanche McIntyre directs Lydia Bewley, best known for The Inbetweeners, Plebs and E4's comedy Drifters, Elizabeth Boag, Anna Fordham, Lisa Kerr, Anne Odeke and Alicia Mckenzie. The production, in association with Oxford Playhouse, sees some of the UK's most influential female voices, Wendy Cope, Jenny Eclair, Suhayla El-Bushra, Natalie Haynes, Shappi Khorsandi, Jess Phillips MP and Brona C Titley, come together to write this musical comedy based on the Greek classic, The Assemblywomen.
